QUOTE(chilskater @ Feb 2 2020, 06:55 PM) I have old Q5 ii android box.. Wondering which apps can be installed on this? I noticed it quite slow now.. Try a factory reset first.. Sometimes, that's all that is needed to be somewhat speedy again. Check if running latest fw and or if there are custom ROMs for it too. Depending on your media requirements and if it's running at least Lollipop Android version... The usual legit apps (Kodi, YouTube, iFlix, etc) should install on it. Performance-wise, it'll be lacking compared to faster AMLogic boxes today. Sorry I don't discuss ehem apps... So have to hunt around for those and try. |

Would like to get some views from Android TV box users streaming Hulu.
Most of the time for on demand content, I have no problem at all. But somehow for Live TV (particularly live major sporting or entertainment events like EPL or Golden Globes), I keep getting the error ‘video not available in this location’. I’ve tried switching VPN servers to multiple specific cities but it’s like a trial and error exercise. For one event, LA VPN works. For another event, Phoenix VPN works. It can take me like half an hour just to work out the right VPN to stream it live, so tiring. How do you guys manage this? Any tips or advice is much appreciated. Can’t be going through all VPN servers with guests waiting, every time I wanna watch EPL 😌 |

Might be time to try other VPN services then... Like Netflix, these guys don't like it very much when people try to fool their servers and so restrictions are in place to prevent as much as possible. Alternatively (and I strongly suggest), you go for a separate paid IPTV service. Those running it has more incentive to keep the streams up and usually will not require any VPN connection to view. Unfortunately, I can't be more specific as to which premium service to sub.. Do hunt around, such services aren't hard to find. Most of the time for on demand content, I have no problem at all. Did consider but thought it’s overkill as I already have Netflix and Hulu. QUOTE(fruitie @ Feb 3 2020, 05:54 PM) I don’t have problems accessing content on Hulu Live TV most of the time. Just for very specific Live TV content such as EPL or yesterday’s Super Bowl. Have you tried streaming these major events? Eventually I gave up on Hulu yesterday and went on the Fox app to watch Super Bowl. |

Any other player? Where are you installing MX Player from? No such thing as VLC unable to play English movies.. The app doesn't discriminate as such.. You mentioned using IDM, confirm that the downloaded files aren't corrupt or incomplete. Any other player? Kodi... But VLC should be working. |

I checked xde pun... Do u know how can I change the video file format? |

QUOTE(Lyu @ Feb 8 2020, 04:07 PM) My English movies i downloaded from IDM Ah .ts files.. Been awhile.. This is the older mpeg-2 tech popularly associated with DVD rips.. VLC at least on a PC handles such no issue, which leads me to believe that it's possible a missing/incompatible codec issue with your box and or the fw. 3 options..I noticed that from properties, its name like this "...... .TS" The other movies in MP4 format... VLC no problems playing MP4 format but TS format I downloaded MX Player from Aptoide but during installing, it's stopped n notification came out stated that there is similar apps with same name... I checked xde pun... Do u know how can I change the video file format? 1. Keep downloading as is and try playing with Kodi since installing MX Player seems problematic too.. Or 2. Download TS files but convert to mp4 or mkv using converting software (online converters or Handbrake on pc or even VLC itself)...or IMO, the best choice.. 3. Simply switch download sources and download files that are already in mp4 or mkv container formats. Save conversion, etc timing and stress. |

QUOTE(voncrane @ Apr 11 2018, 03:14 PM) Okay.. I get your point. Mine involves acknowledging that there's is not one single box with 1 time payment that will actually last long. You either pay upfront the equivalent of months subscription in which the money you paid will be up used during those months to maintain the service or you were conned into paying for streams that are stolen and the "maintainer" can decide today to walk away from the app. Say you paid RM500 or more for such. The box they provide is probably worth RM150-RM200 max. The extra money is for this "one off payment". Where can such a business model succeed? What developer wants to be paid only once but work for a lifetime? Hahaha..End up, the service closes and you are stuck with an underperforming box. QUOTE(holymushroom @ Apr 11 2018, 01:23 PM) What I mean is if you consider paying other for those apps that you can install yourself, then u are better off buying those box that come with their livetv vod apps. It is hassle free with 1 off payment and the developer will maintain those apps for u. Unlike those that help u install kodi terrarium, once the apps is down the seller can do nothing for you anymore. update : the tv box is still working perfectly fine now. lol... my gf house first got it when i went to nz which is around 2016, until now almost 4 years already. this box really worth the penny. |

Hi all sifu here. I need some advise regarding android box.
I'm currently using m8s, but wanted to move to other better android box. I don't mind paying extra as long as it is reliable. Currently my m8s mainly used to stream using the Mypad apps, but the stream quality is not good at all, always stutters and crashed. I'm now looking to buy android box that can support both Astro on the go, and unifi tv. I need the box to be reliable as in no crashing and no stuttering. Currently I'm looking at minix u9, but if there are better options, newer flagship etc I'm more than willing to spend. Thanks sifus |
