Tried with a similar adapter with same voltage, not booting up.
That is too much racun hehe..

I think I'm just gonna grab a Tanix TX6.. still got 3 usb slots, external antenna, plus I've seen reviews saying the Alice UX is a great customizable launcher. Then, unroot it.. finally install astro go and the rest apks.
*
Too much? Hey.. You don't simply say.. tongue.gif .. Tanix not bad, like someone pointed out. If does what you want. Tis when it doesn't and another does? Then you in trouble.. Go watch the video again.. laugh.gif

Try Evpad 3S at my wife hometown not bad come with free HDTV app free for life.

Thinking to change my old tvbox for this. Any recommended tvbox better than this and cheper price. Must come with free IPTV apps and movies.
*
Of course, there are plenty cheap and not so cheap boxes that far outperform the EVPAD 3S. But you aren't interested in those now are you.. Your must come with requirements means I can't help here. Good luck.

They aren't the only options... There's the Nvidia Shield and Beelink GT-King or Pro version. All of which should handle your requirements at varying degrees. Of course, the only decent one and that can comfortably output Netflix at 4K HDR is the Shield. All the others can officially only do up to 540p max. Unless you resort to other mods. If you can wait a bit.. Minix's latest flagship should be released soon. Else, options mentioned are more than good enough.

Usage:
1. Netflix
2. AOTG
3. Kodi

We've already mentioned a few alternatives. Kindly take time to read about them.. All of which can handle your requirements just fine. Although, with Minix's past record.. The Neo T5 should operate nicely too. I would hold out for more real world reviews just in case.

I have plan to buy Tx3 to replace my old hypptv box. Mainly only for streaming, YouTube and unifi PlayTV. I have Njoi at home but rarely use it so no for aotg. I pick Tx3 for it cheap price, below rm150 and it compatibility with aotg (probably will watch someday) and playtv. Now I rarely watch TV so don't want to pay high price for the box.

But look like current 11.11 sales offer some other Android within my budget with newer soc (don't know better or not). Should I stick to Tx3 or get other better box like Tx6?

Sure, if budget permits, get a better box. Else, since your needs are fairly simple at this point.. A simpler cheap box will do nicely, pending when your needs increase.

After research, Beelink GT mini-A suits my budget but Xiaomi Mi BOX S got audio DTS HD, Dolby and lack of connectors (USB 3.0 and LAN port).

Does mecool m8s pro l still reliable ? worth to get it now ?
What is the price range ? normally how many space left if choose 16GB ? because after install with android rom will become less.

Main usage
-youtube
-kodi
- Important to watch video with a browser that support html5.

I don't know how many of you all notice , Youtube Live Stream on apps cannot rewind back but on browser I can rewind back or drag what i miss.
Normally using mouse to drag.

Can mecool , change to default stock launcher or install nova launcher. (saw mecool launcher , may not be suitable for elderly usage )

I see.. good, you've done some research.. However, if you can.. Do hold off for my upcoming review on the upgraded Beelink GTmini-2 with the S905X3 SoC. Still running video tests (But so far so good.. definitely excellent enough for the average user).. Audio tests are in the works too. So I can confirm later if it too supports HD audio processing as you seek. Personally, I would only consider the MiBox for official Netflix or confirmed manufacturer reasons.. Else, hw-wise? it's quite... rclxub.gif sweat.gif

IIRC... Nope... But that's a none issue as you can simply sideload it.. as can other unofficially supported boxes.

Yep, it's still reliable.. But I wouldn't necessarily say it's worth to get it now as upgrades have been done. DOesn't mean that you should forgo it if it performs as to your expectations and well below budget. I got folks still using it and no major complaints. Just as I used the Minix Neo U1 (i'm sure plenty still using till date) despite tons of other "better" boxes out there. It still served me quite well (could passthrough up to DTS HD-MA) and I saw no need to replace it as a daily driver. Price-wise? Try doing a search of places you are comfortable shopping..

Hmmm...Interesting.. I've never bothered to try rewinding an ongoing live stream outside a PC environment. I'll be sure to test for that on other devices going forward. Thanks.. Yes, most boxes running regular Android OS will allows you to easily install a third-party launcher such as Nova or ATV, etc.. It's just a matter of compatibility upon launch and how stable it is as default.

Basic entertainment usage elder may not know how to click or drag on different launcher interface , basic android stock is the best for them.

As for youtube and some apps running but need html5 to run browser on youtube live stream or other apps live sport browser support.Sometimes every apps have different way to manual which not suitable for elder.Browser just bookmark and just full screen can be done in few clicks.
Browser will be using -firefox + ublock plugin. Not sure whether you had tested it.

Btw , I didn't get any reply yet about the size left for 16GB mecool pro l left on stock ? adding youtube would be around 200mb or a few apps 1GB max.Kodi took another 300mb and browser about 100-150mb+

What will the current price of 16GB range ? I saw some oversea which sub RM200 not sure whether they have warranty in it.Worth it in 11.11 ?

Forgot to ask , does it support 2.5 HD power up ?

Like I always tell.. Don't go buying these stuff for "elderly" people.. If anyone has concerns about them using it properly? get them a truly smart TV and or an Astro sub with decoder. They'll thank you for it. This cord cutter's path is NOT for the physically or technologically challenged. People already live dunno how long, least we can do is to not over-complicate the rest of their lives. The easiest YouTube-wise is a Samsung/LG TV with YouTube app.. There's also Netflix.. Also, there are huge (depending on screen size) buttons distinctly showing the FF/RW/Play/Pause/Next/Back, etc buttons on the screen. All these are remote friendly. So directional arrows will work smoothly. There's nothing to "click & drag". Similarly with the YouTube/Netflix app on ATV OS.. Matter of fact, the entire ATV OS is designed to be directional arrows friendly. It's when one installs an incompatible (regular android OS) app, that the whole click and drag to simulate touchscreen is an issue. Else... It's not...

As for storage.. IIRC.. The Minix Neo U1, with stock fw should give around 8GB free from the 16GB eMMC ROM. Kodi can run up to 1GB and more over time, YouTube (ATV version) and the rest will take up a couple hundred MBs too. If you plan on mostly streaming content using the cache/buffer style system.. The remaining storage won't be an issue. However, should you be doing the download first and complete before or during playback? And it's a file that's larger than the 5-6GB ish storage left? That file won't run. I'm talking p2p stuffs here.

As for price... I honestly can't go hunting around for the best deal for you.. So buy from a reputable source.. where ever that may be.. There are plenty reputable sellers and online platforms out there. Just choose one. Most often than not, there's no warranty on such devices. Especially if you are looking to buy for cheap.. Why? Warranty costs extra..There's stress and real money cost involved in claiming the warranty from the manufacturer in China, USA, etc.. All this seller has to consider before putting up selling price.

Do you mean a powered HD hub with a 2.5" SSD and or powered/non-powered normal ext HDs? Most boxes should be able to handle such.. Just depends on the device itself's USB port has enough power to drive the HD or not.
