Thanks for the info bro. Now in dilemma to choose either Q10 pro or Minix Neo.. Need to Google the comparison.. BTW do u have any recommendation which would be better choice in overall performance. i will be using wifi to connect the Box. My main usage is to watch streaming mvies from any apps and watch football too all with good sound output.
*
Off the top..

Q10 Pro
Older device
Better native HD audio formats support.. Has it's own player and plays nice with AVRS, etc..
Has 3.5in HDD bay for expansion and otherwise purposes.. For media playback. not app installs.
I'm unsure if adoptable storage is supported.
Sometimes buggy Kodi experience.. need to deal with workarounds.
Excellent build quality.
USB 3.0 port and slave available..
Good community and manufacturer support. HiMedia recently released native Bluray menu support.. Not many devices can pull this off even with Kodi.

Minix Neo U9-H
Newer device
Minix are Kodi diamond backers and so Kodi plays so nice with their boxes and fw.
Ships with its own Kodi fork to take advantage of hw & fw.
HD audio support confirmed via Kodi passthrough.
Excellent community and manufacturer support.
Excellent build quality.
Better Wi-Fi cuz 2x2MIMO Dual-Band
USB 2.0
Stable fw
Better apps compatibility.. Think UnifiTV and AOTG.. etc.. Install or update from official channels.. set and forget..
Adoptable storage... Means you can add a drive and merge with the internal drive..Samsung EVO 256GB microSD card is tested and confirmed to be working on NEO U9-H

Can't recall anymore at the moment.. If you ask me which to pick between the 2? I'm a Minix guy all the way.. But up to you.

Perhaps you've never come across other better boxes other then Mi box s? Have you heard of Nvidia Shield TV?
*
Nah.. Probably hasn't.. Cuz if he has and willing to fork out the cash to not only buy the Shield, but to also completely upgrade his AV equipment to match its advantages..Particularly his AVR.. He'd know the Shield has and remains King since release.

Maybe i want to rephrase it as the Best and Cheapest Android TV box that is 3x cheaper than Nvidia Shield? Happy now, boss?

Much better, but still not the best and cheapest Android TV box.. The Mecool M8S will run circles around the MiBox S IMO.. smile.gif .. So I'm still not a fan of it.. Only reason i'd recommend it is Netflix.. Else.. poorly speeced and buggy.

Nah.. Nothing egoistic about sharing what you know as fact and helping someone else.. Whom I may say is very appreciative of the help. Rather than those who don't know stuff, but want to act and talk like they do.. I help when and where I can.. I also learn from others experiences and don't speak about issues I'm unsure of.. Neither you nor the forum pays me for my knowledge and time.. I give freely. Up to you to either take or continue the "journey" as you like.. Your loss.

Oh yeah.. Nice one reporting my post Ya.. laugh.gif

I agree.. Though it would be more logical if they did come out with a list of approved devices and or give personal users a means to easily get them approved. Similar to what's being done with some Shield box imports.
Thanks for updating us on this.. At least, later if someone else is interested in it.. Will know to steer clear of it.. So which box will you get as replacement? Don't want to pull the trigger on the Mecool KM9?  smile.gif

GB blardy hell refund into my wallet account so I gotta use it... Maybe wait a little while although I hate the beelink brand but their latest gt1 ATV tick all my boxes

Minix WiFi is really good, even my current box which is an old model - U1 works perfectly when it comes to WiFi.
House on 500Mbps UniFi, router at upstairs and connected to 5GHz, can get 280Mbps.

I think many online shops that can are leaning towards this wallet refund thingy.. Which I find unfair. Especially if it's not the customer's fault to return the product.

Is it the Beelink GT1-A with Amlogic S912 or S905X2? Some reports are reporting both.. I've read it supports Netflix up to 4K, but with stereo though.. Wonder why not DD 5.1..Perhaps, they never pay license or its some hack waiting to be patched by Netflix again.. hmm.gif

You are welcome... Do check out garage sales section.. Got one popular seller there and offers after sales service too. Which you may or may not need. all in all.. Try to get one with a warranty. Though, it's hard to brick the device or get a lemon unit.. Don't go flashing custom fws or mods just yet till you are more familiar. First thing once you get is to check for OTA updates and factory reset afterwards.. Just incase to clear out bugs. It's better to do this then than after setting up, then you find out there's an update.

I'm more of the user experience and performance that specific cores.. What would you like it to do? Else I suggest either of the 2 being listed in the post above yours. Can't go much wrong with either.

Wanna check with you guys
I have this S905x box named 'Modeo' (2GB RAM/16GB ROM) that I put at my family's house
The stock remote is shitty like hell compared to my nvidia shield
Have to aim properly and press hard on the remote
After flashing to atvXperience, it was slightly better but still crap
There is also a zidoo h6 pro at the family house, the remote is much better than the modeo but of course not as good as the shield

So I'm thinking of getting one of those airmouse for this modeo box
Heard people saying that the remote from minix is good (RM90 or so)
You reckon the improvement (responsiveness and all) will be drastic? sweat.gif
though I was told some functions on the minix remote won't work on other android boxes

If you found any good airmouse, let us know.

The air mouse are typically like shits :-

1) They drink battery like drinking water.

2) Constantly have to toggle between remote/IR mode vs usb-dongle (airmouse) mode. And then make to toggle between mouse mode vs non-mouse mode.

I doubt people understand all those things.

Yes, IR remote has to transmit IR vendor ID over which matches the box to be controlled. Without "learning", it is tight to a particular box. I am not sure if the minix remote can learn new IR code or not.

I think airmouse are pretty serviceable. I have owned 2 models. Can't remember model name, battery consumption is ok for one (using 2 x AA batteries), another one is slim rechargeable, yes, use up battery quite fast. The toggle thingy is just a matter of getting familiar to it.

But honestly, Logitech K400 plus wireless keyboard/touchpad is king. Just get this if got budget. Only problem it doesn't have IR to turn on/off your box.

Let me guess, it's an IR only operated remote? If so, of course, the remote experience will be "shitty", especially if the box doesn't have a well placed receiver and or isn't placed in a clear line of sight for each keypress. Nevertheless, a good wireless (Bluetooth or otherwise) airmouse or touchpad equipped remote will do nicely. I've almost only had to use the Minix airmouse over the years and it does its job. There might be better ones from say Logitech (more expensive) and cheaper yet good ones like the Melee F10 Deluxe. Personally, I prefer the A2 Lite as it's more hefty and balanced for my hands, plus the Minix box specific buttons are mapped out and work well. The Mele F10 Deluxe is smaller sized and so typing for those with larger thumbs will be an issue. The only con(s) I can think of for the A2 Lite is that it's keys aren't back-lit and it lacks a dedicated "_" key.. Don't know how they missed the latter. An error fixed in the subsequent Minix Neo A3 Airmouse. You can consider that too and with rechargeable AAA batteries. I use Eneloops. Both of the cons aren't issues for me as I do without em.

The Minix Neo A2 Lite is no shit airmouse.. Works as intended till date. But of course, there has to be a button to toggle between mouse and non-mouse mode. You can't have the inbuilt gyro switched on 24/7.. That will kill the battery faster.

Same here.. Over a year and no such battery draining issues with my Neo A2 Lite. I can only assume that those who experienced issues got lemon units.
