Mecool KM9 is the latest TV-Box that comes with the new SoC of Amlogic S905X2, a chip that we hope to review soon and that promises a good jump to the graphic and video level compared to the previous generation. SoC, RAM and storage
The Mecool KM9 includes as engine the SoC of AMlogic S905X2 a new Quad Core that theoretically reaches up to 2 GHz and integrates a new and powerful GPU Mali-G31 MP2, as a novelty in video playback we have a new VPU with Amlogic Video Engine (AVE) that integrates specific hardware to encode and decode h.265 and VP9 codecs. We have 4 GB of DDR4 RAM and 32 GB of eMMc storage memory that can be extended from the microSD card reader that includes this equipment on one side.

Other specifications
The Mecool KM9 TV-Box includes Wifi dual-band AC and Bluetooth 4.1. The connectors included in the plastic box are not many since we only have one USB 2.0 port, another USB 3.0 , analog audio and video port, a 10/100 Ethernet connector and an HDMI 2.1 video output with 4K @ 60fps support with dynamic HDR and HDCP 2.2.

Still the hassle. I don't understand why these boxes need to be pre-rooted? Not like the apps can't work with stock unrooted version.

Thanks for your helpful suggestions. Settled for a Infinite box on a whim. There's a learning curve, hopefully it gets easier over time. I have yet to attempt to install Netflix on the TV box, let them familiarize with basic functions like the live channels, etc first.

It's looking real good.. Even supports RMVB files.. No mention of Widevine levels though.. So I wonder if it'll do Netflix at FHD or higher..    Probably with the patch. But overall, hardware specs on point.. Mecool is really giving Minix and HiMedia a run for their money.

Not necessarily.. I could be wrong, but last I checked.. Beelink hasn't been having the best of records compared to Mecool devices. Besides, that gyro remote is fairly useless as it doesn't have an inbuilt keyboard too. So one will still need to cough up extra cash for that and usually, third party remotes also come with more dedicated media playback buttons, gyro and or touch pad features. Some of which can be used as gaming controllers too..

i remembered someone here has 2 or more bad experiences with this brand. Even in freaktab forum, there's plenty of issues raised..

Like myself I want to a reliable box that meets my expectation without having to tinker here there.

The Mecool M8S Pro L (LB) version has been great and daily driver replacing the Himedia Q16 Quad for many months now. Hope it last a couple of years before my next upgrade

SPDIF is the common way to refer to an optical socket.
