True on TV manufacturers ditching software updates for older models. Can't remember the last firmware update I got on mine and its only a couple years old. But realistically, OSes such as SmartHub, Tizen or LG's WebOS aren't meant for frequent updates but rather for stability. Once they get that stable firmware on it. Best to leave as is, lest they try to intro something else and break core features.
