If you read the page one, you'd know that there is nothing like a TV or Kodi box.. There are (as you say) boxes running Android OSes that sometimes ship stock or with certain apps. This here thread is to discuss said boxes and not illegal IPTV streams.. There's a separate section for such. I would advise again that you read through page one lest you end up paying for crap, only to return here few months later asking again which box to buy.

Wanna check with Minix U1 user, i tried to run 4k remux file from enternal HDD.

XBMC, occasionally buffering, like every 20min.
KODI krypton, for 2 hours show, stuck once.

May I know if there is anyway to have smooth playback of 4k remux file?

Besides, i got mx player installed, but then i could not click on the menu options like, change subtitle during playback, mouse cursor does not click on the 2nd layer of menu.
Anyone face this?

Decent USB 3.0 ext drive? I've got no issues on mine. See here and here.. I use a Samsung Fit USB 3.0 drive or WD MyBook drive + a tweaked advancedsettings.xml file to increase cache size to about 7xxMB (RAM). Both are fast drives and can serve files at max even though the the U1 only has 2.0 ports.

MX Player + Minix Neo A2 Lite Airmouse.. Can simulate screen touches.. no problem with subs or menu clicking. What remote are you using? if stock IR remote, then that's limiting.. need to get a better remote.

I am using Seagate Backup plus 4TB (2.5"), i tries to increase XBMC cache file size according to some online blog about 1/3 of the free RAM in U1, I will try to increase it to 7xxMB (RAM) like you did. See how it perform tonight.

I use logitech wireless mouse on U1, I bought from Beffen promo and come without airmouse.
maybe I should try airmouse... think whether Mele F10pro or Minix A3.

dont think you need USB 3.0. I have no issue stream 4k remux via rpi3 .

I ordered Minix U1 on Lazada this morning from Dobest and somehow the seller honors it and now preparing for shipment. Just realize the U1 are not support Netflix 4K. So gonna let it go when receiving the item. Let me know who interested to buy it from me.

Yep, try increasing cache size. I also tweaked a few AV parameters too, to fit my requirements. Just be careful, don't overdo it as Kodi prioritizes parameters in the advancedsettings.xml file.

Based on the build quality and performance of the Neo A2 Lite, I strongly suggest that you get the A3 Airmouse. Zero compatible issues.

I know.. The U1 only supports up to 2.0 speeds. I use 3.0 cuz it's 2018 and it reads/writes faster to or from my PC.

That's why we tell people read read first.. They no listen.. A lot of noobish mistakes will be avoided if only one did just a little bit of research first. I assume that you've already read about a device that supports Netflix 4K. I just use and prefer the the Netflix app that ships with the TV. Assuming that you have a recently released 4K TV, doesn't it have a 4K supported Netflix app? You can just use that and still keep the U1 for other tasks.

Do pm me when you've received it. I just might know someone who would take it off you.

Thanks voncrane, I have not change it yet, last night it runs smooth on XBMC, my cache setting is about 5XXmb now. additional question, will Minix airmouse compatible with Himedia product?

namia if you can part with the A2 lite airmouse, let me know.

You are welcome. Yes, it'll work with most other Android boxes. Except that the Minix dedicated buttons or features won't work. Like the configurable power button or press to power up the box from full shutdown, etc. I've used it on TM's STB and it works, airmouse too. Should be a non-issue with HiMedia.

I had a Minix U1 previously (already sold) that didn't work very well with the Astro app but I didn't really use it for that purpose so never bothered much about it. Would getting another Minix U1 be a good idea?

I'm using U1 now and it works very well for Astro Go and UniFi TV.

The MI Box UI should be easier for older folks to navigate.. But for your needs, the Neo U1 is better. Plus, a page back or so, there's a forummer who's looking to sell his once delivered. You might want to pm him to nego.. Or purchase from wherever you are most comfortable. Usual disclaimer, your money..your responsibility.
