Yup, HDR content being mainstream is some way away.. And I don't see Netflix allowing Minix devices in yet. Especially since there's an official Android TV OS to take care of all that.

I also prefer using the TV app for YouTube and Netflix... As for the Neo U9-H not supporting YouTube 4K... You have to recheck that. Cuz my Neo U1 is able to support 4K YouTube videos, but through the Kodi addon.. I wouldn't have it any other way though. Prefer to use Kodi.. Can't remember how I set mine up to be able to fetch and output 4K videos. It did involve downloading a special version of the YouTube addon, another addon and some settings too.. But yeah, despite Kodi being set to display at 1080p, it fetches 4K YouTube vids as well.. If I am able to remember and retrace my steps, I'll share the tip... Else, go check out the U9-H official thread.. Someone may have posted how to get it working.. Though It's still easier to use the TV's app.

In my opinion, there is no user friendly tv boxes, ie no matter how, they are just too difficult for less educated oldies.

Kodi is just too difficult.

Apps could be easier, but not many apps are written for tv remote. If the apps are written for phone/tablet, it is going to be a nightmare in navigation.

Plan to get my first TV Box. My internet speed is only 4mbps, will it takes likes hours to stream an episode of TVB drama? The first few pages of this thread suggested 10mbps. Anyone can provide some information about this? I dont have Unifi at my area...

Somehow the apk doesn't work on Mecool M8S Pro L. However am using 4.4.2 build 7687 downloaded from filelinked group which may have been modded further...

Nvidia Shield don't support Dolby Vision.

Today in the market, most support Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos example Firestick 4K max, Xiaomi TV S Gen2, Apple TV; a big but here -  don't support TrueHD Atmos or DTS-HD.
Ofcoz if you have have a brand new smart TV coming with eARC, mostly like it will work OOTB. My existing android TV don't have eARC, so no TrueHD Atmps...sad.
