I find kodi 17.4 beta for minix have issue on playback certain 1080p files.

Maybe branded boxes with good support not for me.
I bought Minix Neo U1 for parent use, I find it stable and less configuration required. Which I m happy with it.
When come to performance and $$, i find that the cheap box with right ROM work better for my use.

It can run same firmware from T95Zplus or T95K 2gb box, however you will need to look firmware for correct wifi. China manufacturer today will use 3 type of wifi chip.
Hence it will require fair bit of hands on for cheap box to get it unroot.

T95Z plus 3gb box is not recommended from me as there limited support for custom firmware.
H96 pro+, i own one, lucky to get Superceleron software running but did abit of coolling mod to cool CPU from 68+ to now 54+ for normal use.

For the T95z plus in your link come preconfigure with apps, it is very subjective and normally for us this app grt our self if we know the app name.

For cheap brand boxes, it always involved fair bit of firmware upgrade to maximize the performance or usage.

If you prefer hassle less, my advise go branded box like Minix.

Ofcoz not a seller, just did a quick search and found it is back.
I dont own X92 but I saw a thread here for x92 and aotg running on it afters flashing.

Performance I do feel s912 is a slight better on speed and better support video codec (due minix limit - running A6.0) but the rest have to goto minix neo u1. Overall minix is fairly stable, configure to use more cursor button than mouse, better audio passthrough (i dun use) and importantly it is mostly working without need of tweak or upgrade.
For me it is more about pricing, Minix is 2X the cost
for the similar spec. Unless they got really good offer like previous rm2XX. Lucky for me to get one for my parent.

Sorry, I look for seller rating more than product rating.
I put here for consideration as I aware few of X92 users in here is happy with it after flashing mk22 firmware or SMDE something V20 firmware.

I also on Time. No problem with HD but specificly need to choose the right link provider.

For Time, openload, streamango, CDN and many are bad.
My prefer choice is Gxxglx, ThxVxdxx, Vxd.mx, FB-Fxst....

His money is his own choice, he could afford to burn let it be. I'm sure other reader can see the point why need to have of having different boxes to do one thing which watching movies/tv show for entertainment while some other enjoy the same.with same box on their tv. It just matter own unique taste.

This thread is for Android Tv box and others tv box, I woild suggest to change it to Android TV box since other discussion focus on android based tv box.

I believe this could be root issue. I face similar issue before.
Where my box is original rooted, but unrooted with unsu scripts.

With that my box can start aotg however alot channel cant open or opened in SD mode.

The way i solved this is flashed magisk and hide root for aotg.

This has been working for my 2 S912 boxes, H96pro+ and T95Zplus cloned.

Google for it.
Not sure what X92 firmware you are having.
Always backup before proceed and google on how tobulget and use twrp.

Typical step as follows:-
1) flash/install twrp if not available. This can also put on sdcard snd boot from it. But many android 7.1.2 doesnot work.
- i suggest you to google "xda ricky armlogic tool".
- latest version is 4.x
-inside got a tool to backup your recovery and create twrp version to flash back into the box.

2) google unsu.zip - optional here
-it is use to make sure no superuser (root)
-to use just flash this file via twrp

3) google xda magisk
-flash via twrp

4) install magisk manager apk to hide root for the app intended.

General guide here, you need to have custom recovery before could use magisk.

1) Get TWRP custom recovery for your box, which you have option to run from your box or bootup via sdcard.

To boot up from your box:
Depends on your box come rooted or not the detail steps could varies here.

If your box NOT rooted, try to read more about this first before experiment with it:
XDA recovery cmd via ADB and other customization
There is a sub writeup about flashing recovery. This will work provided you have the right recovery.img ready for your box.

Note:
Almost each box willng have their own specific TWRP custom recovery for each OS version and chipset. While some box can share becoz their partition and Nand memory chip are the same or some twrp created for general.

The Xda recovery method via adb actually have been developed into opensource freeware by the same developer, under the link below, look for Armlogic Flash tool (I recommended this approach in most cases)

The flasher tool, will able get the current recovery from your box and modify into twrp recovery and put back into the box.
It worked for most boxes but some boxes known to fail due limited space in partition and required to modify partition.
I believe meecool should not be a problem, i only read Vims khadas have issue with this method.

If you have rooted, try follow here
XDA armlogic recovery flasher app
In order to work, you need get TWRP img (recovery.img) ready for your box.

To boot recovery SDcard
If you already got the correct twrp recovery.img file for your box. Note that in android 7.x some box doesnot work with this.
You need to rename it as recovery.img
And put in the root directory of the SD memory card.
Power off your box.
Use a pin to press and hold on to reset button while powering up your box. (You need to know where is reset button, some box hide it inside).
You need to hold until you see the TWRP boot page showup, this may take 15-30 or 45 sec depend on the box you have.
If it doesnot work, it either bootup normal ignore your action or hang at boot up logo. In anycase reboot your box will do and try again. You may did it at wrong timing.

2) To flash magisk is relatively peanut, once your have TWRP.
Google magisk and read on xda itself.
Typically if your box not rooted, just flash the magisk.zip file and reboot. Then install magisk manager apk file.

If box rooted, then you can try look for unsu.zip to unroot or in supersu apk there option to unroot. It depends on your luck here, after unroot try magisk step above.
Note: on some box unroot may coz ur box to soft brick, make sure have backup.

Then principal idea of magisk as i could understand, it actual backup your boot img somewhere and create a duplicate of it with rooting modification. Then the manager app takeover to report to your app it is rooted or not depends or your setting.

Additional note, magisk only work with android 5.0 and above.

Spec seem too good to be true. Seller rating is very low.
If this is true really worthwhile for EXPERIMENT.

S912 with 2GB Ram and 32GB eMMC should be around 160 to 200 even for low end device.

If u r get one, pls help take a picture of the pcb on front and back.

S912 custom firmware is alot out there.
Maybe can unroot it to run aotg.

I also using H96pro+ here with SCV7, no issue with quasar. Maybe is heating problem for u.

I DIY mod with a fan, maybe that's is the reason I don't have problem with quasar Or movie.
There is 1x I realize my fan not running and it does coz lagging during streaming but the moment I had my fan running no more lagging.


I do have problem with Elementary (quasar alike).
