In addition to what others have commented.. Don’t think too much.. Sell both (folks sure pm you  tongue.gif ), top up and get the Shield.. It’s the best out there period. Cost is justified if;
1. Can afford.
2. Have the equipments to take advantage of its capabilities.
So from above you should immediately know if it’s for you or not. Else, sounds like you prefer using Kodi like moi.. The Minix Neo U9-H does good Kodi and HDR. Like you, I too can attest to the rock solid reliability of Minix products and firmware.
*
Can afford and have equipment to take advantage of it but still from a value perspective not sure its justified to pay rm1300. I'm willing to spend the money if its worth it but I am not entirely certain about the value propositiion aince I will not be gaming on it.
The U9-H sounds like a good compromise and reasonably priced too. Might give it a try first and see how it goes.

Sure give the U9-H a "try".. Remember, that's essentially what happened with the other 2 devices.. Or perhaps you've upgraded A/V recently & looking to max usage only to find em somewhat lacking. Hey, just trying to keep you from rinse & repeat situation in the near future... smile.gif icon_rolleyes.gif

Good point, will have to sell off the Q5 Pro first before getting the U9-H. Don't wanna accumulate tv boxes. I was quite happy with the U1 except for the lack of hdr and now that I've seen the Q5, its hard to be satisfied with U1 picture quality although to be honest is quite good really untill we start comparing.

My MiniX U9-H working quite ok.

Just "sometimes" it force close for no blerdy reason. A quick reopen then it's fine again.

I blame Astro app dev being nonsense LOL.

Don't know of any free one.. Another paid? yes.. Discussed one recently.. Ships with Minix boxes. You are better off with a paid one. Just a few RM and yours for life, updates included.

if you purchase a non-certified box, mean android has been rooted and modified. so it won't load. unless you can customize app to trust root andriod.

Hi. Not sure whether this is off topic or not. If it is, my apology.

I was wondering, do you people use VPN on the router? If yes, any recommendation based on personal experience.

FYI, I only want to watch movies and even on MiBox 3S and 50Mbps, it's not smooth at times.

Many reasons for streaming not to be stable.

Maybe just watch SD content, that will be smooth.

Are you watching paid content ? Paid content is hosted on dedicated servers, so it will be smoother.

Sorry, can't confirm that. Last gamepad I used was the PS3 Dualshock controller on my previous Minix Neo X8-H Plus and it worked wired and wireless. Unfortunately, same can't be said for using it on the Minix Neo U1 as Lollipop removed its drivers or something. Well, at Rm1xx, not so expensive la for peace of mind. Sure, you can go ahead and buy the Ipega, see if it works. Thing is, there are several ipega versions.. So good luck.. biggrin.gif Do report back, if it works and how well.

It could be an issue with your network as the Mibox 3S doesn't have an Ethernet port for wired connections. WiFi network has to be healthy. However, once you've determined it's not from your network, then it has to be from the servers. As for VPN? For English content & within Malaysia (for now)? No VPN needed.. Can't speak for Chinese or otherwise content as some require a VPN connection to access.

Good... I don't have a As*** subscription, so can only test with free content. For over various app updates, it has always worked. Tested last night and was able to play two episodes of Oh My English!, smooth from launch till end.

Edit: Should you feel like temporarily sharing your subscription login details or for a longer test, let me know.. I could do that.. before you purchase the box.

if you are able to run the apps then it should work because i have tried running the astro go for rooted device (which is done by 3rd party) and it doesnt work because it is based on the older astro go apk. the video just doesnt load.

as for the Egreat A5, the unit is a rooted android therefore astro go will not work on it.

I am still hoping to find a cheaper Android box (below Rm300) to work with Astro Go as i have just spend Rm700 on the EGreat A5 and i dont wish to spend any more than RM300 just to run Astro Go.

I follow the STB thread too and if I recall correctly, AOTG doesn't work on it either.

mine works...installed and working fine (and tested using my yet to terminated astro subs at that time)

but after terminate my astro, i didnt test it anymore coz i never turn on the white stb at all.....using android tvbox all the time...lol

but my quick test shows quite hard to use the interface since white stb remote function is quite limited...and the interface is more like mobile phone-web browsing....
