There are 3 types of problems when running AstroGo,

1. When started, the app complains device is rooted or jailbreak.
2. When playback, there is a circle keep spinning and spinning, nothing else is seen.
3. When playback, it complains of wrong format.

So what is your problem ?

In any case, unroot or hide root can solve problem 1 and 2. Problem 3 can be solved by changing ROM.

TWRP and Magisk is the answer to unroot and hide root.

If root is useless to you, you can unroot by installing Magisk and then uninstall Magisk ( via TWRP ). It is an easier way to remove root.

This box has no 5 GHz.

How far is your router from the box ?

Just make the connection and perform speed test. Compare with the speed with when tested with hand phone.

If it really has 5 GHz, then it is a different board. It's common that the tv boxes different shipments of the exact same brand can be delivered with different boards.

As far as I know, you tube 4k is just a soft setting in build.prop.

And netflix HD, there is no certification required. No ?

Yeah air mouse consume battery very fast.

On the MX3 air mouse there is button to turn off/on the airmouse, which stops/activates the continuous use of gyro. Not sure about minix.

That's considered pretty fast too.

Maybe there are different models of Minix airmouse ? Some are smarter ?

Referring to the picture. At the bottom there are 9 buttons. What is the purpose of the button at the top right corner ( circle with an arrow ) ? Isn't it the one which turn on the mouse cursor ? If it is, then it is the button which turn on and turn off the gyro.

Wow, that's bad. I need to pay attention to my one too. I was under the impression that turn off the gyro will save the battery.

Do you turn off the tv box (shutdown) after use or put it to sleep at least ?

Just to answer the root portion.

Root is often not needed in order for installing commercial (legal) apps such as AstroGo. Because these apps see root as a breach of security.

However, sometimes people still want to have root to perform certain tweak. Eg if you want to install apps to blackhole advertisement, it will require root.

So a strategy is to have 'systemless root', which has the capability to selectively hide root from certain apps.

Haha must be the pricing discrepancy. Now the seller argues one thing and lazada displaying another.

Go and buy the batteries from Mr DIY. It's like RM 1.60 or something for 4 AAA. ( If I remember correctly ).

Yeah fully agree with you. IPTV/android boxes are just too difficult. Many things are not friendly enough. I cannot imagine old folks can use AstroGo or RSS player.

China IPTV apk are quite well written. They remember they last show you watch and pause and resume and move on to the next episode.

Sometimes there are scam sellers on lazada which advertise their phone number and requires purchases directly with them ( instead of via lazada ). I concluded that these are scam.

Hard to tell. You need to isolate the problem first.

Himedia Q10 Pro might be better than T95Z Plus in many aspects, but whether it can solve your particular problem or not is hard to tell. If you strategy is to just get a better box, I guess there is no harm.

Many boxes are able to meet this requirement.

For AstroGo, if you are not very technical, then buy non-root devices. If you are willing to go a bit technical, rooted also non issues.

Root definitely will not work.

So either you (1) unroot, in which case you don't have root to perform certain tricks ( such as installing Adaway to remove advertisement), or (2) hide root from AstroGo.

I think "My Astro" and "Astro Go" ( previously "Astro On the Go" ) are two different apps.

"My Astro" is an app which works with Astro.

"Astro Go" is a pure IP app, an independent access via internet to view astro programmes.

Not strange. That's why people ask you to download using other methods.

The app is wired to only appear on devices which only Astro wanted it to appear.
