QUOTE(hairybelly @ Sep 24 2018, 06:38 PM) I have read good reviews on the Zidoo X9S and mainly attracted by its capability to handle lossless audio (eg, DTS-HD, True Dolby HD, LPCM, etc). Are there any concerns regarding Android 6 and 2GB RAM, in terms of future proofing? Any alternative models in the similar price range that I should also look into? My main criteria is lossless audio to feed to my AVR. Thanks. zidoo z9s is coming next month according to source.

QUOTE(bruce07 @ Sep 27 2018, 01:08 PM) Hi guys, is there any recommended apps to watch CCTV channels, seems that using TVPlus and HDPTV will be lagging like crazy, and I'm on the Unifi turbo package already.... thanks in advance. QUOTE(MrMocha @ Sep 27 2018, 01:30 PM) I just realised that majority of the time, the lagging in using iptv, is actually due to the iptv service provider/source. I compared between 3 scenarios. Using YouTube - no lag whatsoever up to HD Using payed iptv - really really minimal lag/sangkut Using free iptv - lagging like there's no tomorrow until feel like throwing the box into the sea. Btw I'm using Internet with 8mbps speed. QUOTE(bruce07 @ Sep 27 2018, 01:32 PM) so basically it is the ISP that is causing the lag? eventhough running on 500Mbps also lag like crazy... haaiizzzzz QUOTE(megahertz @ Sep 27 2018, 01:42 PM) its not ISP. but might be the content provider itself. https://forum.lowyat.net/IPTVTalk

QUOTE(Scissorshand @ Oct 26 2018, 09:41 PM) MECOOL KM9 Android TV Voice Remote Amlogic S905X2 A8.1 4/32 Dual Wifi Fast lan BT4.1Mecool KM9 is the latest TV-Box that comes with the new SoC of Amlogic S905X2, a chip that we hope to review soon and that promises a good jump to the graphic and video level compared to the previous generation. This new TV-Box takes us with a fairly complete configuration with 4GB of RAM and the typical microphone control, which in theory will let us search by voice. The operating system is Android 8.1 although for this SoC an update to the new Android P is expected soon. SoC, RAM and storageThe Mecool KM9 includes as engine the SoC of AMlogic S905X2 a new Quad Core that theoretically reaches up to 2 GHz and integrates a new and powerful GPU Mali-G31 MP2, as a novelty in video playback we have a new VPU with Amlogic Video Engine (AVE) that integrates specific hardware to encode and decode h.265 and VP9 codecs. We have 4 GB of DDR4 RAM and 32 GB of eMMc storage memory that can be extended from the microSD card reader that includes this equipment on one side. Other specifications The Mecool KM9 TV-Box includes Wifi dual-band AC and Bluetooth 4.1. The connectors included in the plastic box are not many since we only have one USB 2.0 port, another USB 3.0 , analog audio and video port, a 10/100 Ethernet connector and an HDMI 2.1 video output with 4K @ 60fps support with dynamic HDR and HDCP 2.2. Price and availability The new Mecool KM9 TV-Box can be purchased at Gearbest.com or Banggood.com for USD$69.99 (61.6€) including free shipping. Mecool KM9 on GearBest Beelink GT1 MINI looks more interesting with its bundle gyro remote S905X2 boxes: https://www.gearbest.com/tv-box/pp_00965741...tml?wid=1433363https://www.gearbest.com/tv-box/pp_00949715...tml?wid=1433363https://www.gearbest.com/tv-box/pp_00917005...tml?wid=1433363https://www.gearbest.com/tv-box/pp_00947308...tml?wid=1433363

QUOTE(voncrane @ Oct 27 2018, 08:04 AM) Not necessarily.. I could be wrong, but last I checked.. Beelink hasn't been having the best of records compared to Mecool devices. Besides, that gyro remote is fairly useless as it doesn't have an inbuilt keyboard too. So one will still need to cough up extra cash for that and usually, third party remotes also come with more dedicated media playback buttons, gyro and or touch pad features. Some of which can be used as gaming controllers too.. i see.

QUOTE(GuyM @ Oct 27 2018, 11:12 AM) Doesn't matter... Like myself I want to a reliable box that meets my expectation without having to tinker here there. The Mecool M8S Pro L (LB) version has been great and daily driver replacing the Himedia Q16 Quad for many months now. Hope it last a couple of years before my next upgrade in my dictionary reliable = minix…haha

Best frame rate setting for Minix Neo U1 [Android] auto switch to default resolution: on note: if manually set to 1080/50, 1080/60, 4k/50, 4k/60; the HDMI self-adaption Level 2 seems not working, so must set auto switch to default resolution: on. [Android] HDMI self-adaption: Level 2 note: Level 1 = adjust everything to 60 Hz frame rate, Level 2 = set frame rate same as video [Kodi] Adjust display refresh rate: On start / stop note: after setting please reboot your tv box. changing the setting on-the-fly doesn't seem working good. QUOTE(voncrane @ Jan 26 2019, 11:52 PM) I completely agree.. Been using the Neo U1 since its release and 2 previous Minix flagship models before it (X7 & X8-H Plus).. I would have upgraded to the Neo U9-H Plus if my current TV is capable of maximizing it's advantage. But alas it's still 1080P.. So hopefully when I upgrade to a better UHD HDR TV in future, there'll be an even better Minix flagship to upgrade to. Either that or the Shield/ a worthy hardware by then.. The Neo U1 has paid for itself in performance many times over.. Paired with original Neo A2 Lite air-mouse. Absolutely no regrets. recently i have upgraded to uhd hdr tv, but tv native player can handle 4k hevc hdr, got built-in astro go, and netflix 4k. no need upgrade to minix u-9h...so still stay with u1...money saved. haha

QUOTE(voncrane @ Jan 28 2019, 11:58 PM) IMO, there aren't an "non-smart" decent TVs out there. There just simply aren't.. And if you are considering to buy some no-name brand, that's an even worse off idea. However, all smart TVs aren't created equal. Some are indeed smarter others.. So best is to focus on what a TV should do and do best.. Which is Picture quality. TV speakers aren't great either, so if you like better sounds? you must get a separate sound system to go along with it. story for another thread. Today, UHD TVs are much cheaper.. so depending on your budget & the TV's location, I'd spring for at least a 55" UHD TV.. Got more budget? Get one with HDR (at least HDR10 support.. Dolby Vision??? eh, not so widely accepted now, so skip) too... Else, a 1080p (minimum) smart TV will do just fine. So yes, look for a truly smart TV. BUT... Make sure the TV is smart enough to support apps like Netflix & YouTube in it's respective max resolution. in my opinion, hdr is useless if the tv is not equipped with full array local dimming led. but if u have the budget to buy such tv… better straight get the oled tv. if limited budget…get the biggest entry level tv. size > all if concern IQ…get the oled tv, don't waste time on mid range normal led tv.
