I have read good reviews on the Zidoo X9S and mainly attracted by its capability to handle lossless audio (eg, DTS-HD, True Dolby HD, LPCM, etc). Are there any concerns regarding Android 6 and 2GB RAM, in terms of future proofing? Any alternative models in the similar price range that I should also look into? My main criteria is lossless audio to feed to my AVR. Thanks.

I just realised that majority of the time, the lagging in using iptv, is actually due to the iptv service provider/source.

I compared between 3 scenarios.

Using YouTube - no lag whatsoever up to HD
Using payed iptv - really really minimal lag/sangkut
Using free iptv - lagging like there's no tomorrow until feel like throwing the box into the sea.

Btw I'm using Internet with 8mbps speed.

so basically it is the ISP that is causing the lag? eventhough running on 500Mbps also lag like crazy... haaiizzzzz

its not ISP. but might be the content provider itself.

Not necessarily.. I could be wrong, but last I checked.. Beelink hasn't been having the best of records compared to Mecool devices. Besides, that gyro remote is fairly useless as it doesn't have an inbuilt keyboard too. So one will still need to cough up extra cash for that and usually, third party remotes also come with more dedicated media playback buttons, gyro and or touch pad features. Some of which can be used as gaming controllers too..

i remembered someone here has 2 or more bad experiences with this brand. Even in freaktab forum, there's plenty of issues raised..

The Mecool M8S Pro L (LB) version has been great and daily driver replacing the Himedia Q16 Quad for many months now. Hope it last a couple of years before my next upgrade

I completely agree.. Been using the Neo U1 since its release and 2 previous Minix flagship models before it (X7 & X8-H Plus).. I would have upgraded to the Neo U9-H Plus if my current TV is capable of maximizing it's advantage. But alas it's still 1080P.. So hopefully when I upgrade to a better UHD HDR TV in future, there'll be an even better Minix flagship to upgrade to. Either that or the Shield/ a worthy hardware by then.. The Neo U1 has paid for itself in performance many times over.. Paired with original Neo A2 Lite air-mouse. Absolutely no regrets.

IMO, there aren't an "non-smart" decent TVs out there. There just simply aren't.. And if you are considering to buy some no-name brand, that's an even worse off idea. However, all smart TVs aren't created equal. Some are indeed smarter others.. So best is to focus on what a TV should do and do best.. Which is Picture quality. TV speakers aren't great either, so if you like better sounds? you must get a separate sound system to go along with it. story for another thread.    Today, UHD TVs are much cheaper.. so depending on your budget & the TV's location, I'd spring for at least a 55" UHD TV.. Got more budget? Get one with HDR (at least HDR10 support.. Dolby Vision??? eh, not so widely accepted now, so skip) too... Else, a 1080p (minimum) smart TV will do just fine. So yes, look for a truly smart TV.

BUT... Make sure the TV is smart enough to support apps like Netflix & YouTube in it's respective max resolution.
