Actually I am finding a better box than Apple TV 4K but I can't find.

Apple TV 4K is a nearly perfect box to me except following two issue.
  • YouTube stuck at 1080p only
  • No Dolby Atmos in Dolby TrueHD
The box I need need to be better than Apple TV 4K and meet following requirement
  • Auto frame rate switch (extreme important)
  • Full RGB support (important)
  • Lossless Track support (very important)
  • Dolby Atmos in Dolby TrueHD (very important)
  • Plex plugin support apps which can run as great as Infuse Pro (only support Apple tvOS), the reason I prefer user own customize poster and do it at PC. I don't use Plex because Plex transcode when subtitle is not SRT format. (important)
  • Netflix 4K HDR (I exclude Dolby Atmos as I know only Apple TV 4K and Xbox support it) (important)
  • YouTube 4K HDR (I not sure any box support up to 4K HDR or not, my Panasonic TV do support it, if not, at least give me 4K SDR support) (important)
I want all in one box and not switching to TV apps even the TV apps support it.

The closer I can find is Nvidia Shield but I not sure on certain like auto frame rate switch, and also lossless track support behaviour, my soundbar not support DTS-HD MA, is apps in Android TV can set decode and send over to my soundbar as Multi PCM? But for Dolby wise direct passthru up to Dolby Atmos. If this cannot do, I don't see the point for me buy Nvidia Shield, because the TV Box must greater than my current Apple TV 4K.

Good you read it.. I purposely chose to remain quiet till it all hits you. See that's the difference between manufacturers like Minix and Beelink.. IMO, it appears Beelink rushed to place this in the market and prolly figured they'll fix things as time goes on. Hence releasing the sdk into the wild, etc.. Eventually, the goal is a more stable firmware where it all works. The hardware and Android OS is definitely more than capable. Minix on the other hand, would rather hold off a release till the get the most basic things working.. Then push out with a stable firmware.. Then subsequent updates to squash bugs and intro features..
Nope, business-wise.. Why would they... It's still being designed purely for touchscreen devices. My guess is that even if they are interested in such tv boxes. Better to target ATV OS instead first.
The Nvidia Shield does it all.. Quit hesitating and pull the trigger. Also it's weird that your soundbar doesn't support DTS HD-MA but supports ATMOS.. Anyways, as told before.. Literally all soundbars are pseudo-surround.. So even if you are playing ATMOS or TrueHD.. It's never the real thing.. So TBH, harping on these surround sound formats being a must isn't really. Get a proper AVR with 7.1 speakers or more setup.. Then, yes...can talk. Else, you use as is with the Nvidia Shield.

Lastly.. You keep typing "Dolby ATMOS in Dolby TrueHD... What's that? Dolby Atmos and Dolby TrueHD are two separate soundtrack formats. Unless you are referring to data merged in such a way to maintain backward compatibility?
Yup.
*
Actually I heard the differences where more immersive feel when I compare with same title in 4K UHD blu-ray in Dolby Atmos and also Remux copy in Dolby TrueHD even in current pseudo-surround, thus I want Dolby Atmos, the metadata is playing on it. SoundBar is enough for me. Some SoundBar now is good and came with actual rear speaker. I know cannot compare with AVR but it ain't bad smile.gif No place for me to put AVR and it is not something I prefer.

My current SoundBar is 5.1.2 and probably I will upgrade to 7.1.2 coming month to true surround with actual rear speaker instead of current pseudo-surround.

Ya, my SoundBar support everything from Dolby Digital, Dolby Digital Plus, Dolby TrueHD and Dolby Atmos, but DTS only support the lossy DTS Digital.

Good to know Nvidia Shield does it all. I hope it is not only does in Kodi as I don't like Kodi. Haha! smile.gif

Most people do not have hd audio hardware. Sound bar is your audio hardware ?

Hi. Yup. My soundbar is support High Resolution Audio.

I am using LG SK9Y - https://www.lg.com/my/home-audio-systems/lg-SK9Y

The best player is like no others choice already. First cannot do like Plex catalog. 2nd Plex no good when enable Subtitle not in STR format. 3 is lousy. 4 probably the best but I dislike Kodi. Haha!

Now I can access the website. Lol

I just checked online the price for LG LK9Y is RM2639. I need to be quite "out-of-mind" to be willing to take that amount of money for a sound system.  tongue.gif  blush.gif
*
I buy at only RM 2099 as promotion that time.

Ok la, the sound is awesome and can upgrade to 7.1.2 with physical 2 rear speaker.

According to this post, they are saying this is done through Plex and Kodi :-

https://forums.plex.tv/t/nvidia-shield-with...-formats/201638

You can consider converting subtitle to SRT for your local files.  smile.gif
*
I not that free converting the subtitle.

I got 1980+ movies and not free to check one by one which isn't using SRT. tongue.gif. Currently in my Apple TV 4K, Infuse Pro play it perfectly without need any conversion.

As long Plex not settle it, I won't use it but only use it for organize my movie database.

Yes and it does it not just in Kodi... Though Kodi is my preferred.. Dunno why most are terrified of Kodi.. Kodi IMO, is a masterpiece.. Want your library organized? Done. Manually or automatically? Done.. Skins to display tags, etc? Done.. HD audio pass-through? Done. IPTV? Done.. VOD? Done.. Subs- PGS, SDH, Colored or not, SRT, etc.. Done!.. it goes on and on.. Plex is nice an all to user that just wants it over with.. But for a power user who wants it all? Kodi.. enuf said.  smile.gif

As for upgrading your sound equipment? Yup.. Best do that.. You already know my stance on this.. So no use flogging the roadkill.. haha
*
Haha. I know Kodi done a lot and I try use before but just not my preferable. Haha!

For sound system. I had plan. Haha! tongue.gif

On another note, apparently there's an "EVPAD 3S - Malaysia Edition" and this is being advertised as both SIRIM & MCMC approved.. If that's true...I'm unsure how that came to be.. No more war on boxes and ehem content?

Wonder how they can get certified. The 700+ channel is still there!

And wonder who translate to Chinese, it said 马来认证版 = Malay Certified. Not Malaysia... lol. Malaysia is call 马来西亚, not 马来。

Haha.. So that's what that whole check for logo is all about.. I couldn't read that and just assumed it meant they are approved.. Oh well, if they haven't been on the authorities' radar, this should get the to the top of the list fairly quickly..  laugh.gif
*
They said they are approved by SIRIM and MCMC and is Malaysia Certified. Just the Chinese translate was wrong.

Certified? If they can certified, every others brand also can... ...

They even put SIRIM QAS logo, so this product has been tested and certified by SIRIM QAS! Wah! even AppleTV 4K or Nvidia Shield also not get certified by SIRIM QAS... ...

I figured and kinda makes sense.. Though, what does this say about the folks up in there.. I don't even work in their approval/enforcement department and even I know what the name EVPAD is synonymous with. 99.99% of anyone who buys an EVPAD device buys it for a singular reason. Which is definitely not their hardware or firmware. So I guess, legally.. The company can cash in on this (as they have) and hint that they are backed by SIRIM & MCMC..

Alternatively, perhaps the government is giving them ropes to hang themselves..  laugh.gif

Exactly...Guess they are now seeing the light that there's a market for people who want contract-free or Netflix style legit IPTV. Some that already have fast fixed broadband and a Smart TV & or Media box. No dish & decoder required.
Yeah...
Yep, If that ensures an uninterrupted smooth playback. Still bearable. Unless you live in a neighborhood with fans who scream goal 30 seconds before you even know it's possible.. laugh.gif
Yes, it has to be.

Really crazy.. Haha.. The balls on em too.. Even during the beta testing stage, they still want to collect money.. Don’t get more greedy than that.  biggrin.gif
Eh pls la....Beta testing is so that samples of your target group, help you the service creator, to stress test etc your systems. In other words, you get testers willing to put in time and effort to make your product better. Normally, beta testers don’t pay a cent, technically, they should be paying testers to report bugs and or workarounds. It’s how it’s always been and how it should. Also, Astro has been billing millions of accounts for decades. I’m sure they already know how to continue billing customers.  sweat.gif
I reckon can test everywhere as long as supported/compatible.

2020 Zidoo z9x is what you need to handle local playback.

The box is widevide L1 and supports Dolby vision and Dolby Atmos for local playback.

Streaming from netflix upto 4k is supported but Dolby vision and Dolby Atmos are said will be fixed in the future firmware release.

Price is around 1k there about.
