This box the wifi is good enough, handles both 2.4 and 5 Ghz. But there are feedback which they experienced hanging for the Android 7 firmware. Android 6 firmware is considered more stable.

A few other alternate firmwares are available. Maybe those are more stable but since such is an intermittent behaviour, one needs to use it long enough to be able to conclude.

Performance wise it is definitely more responsive compared to S905X based boxes, since this is a S912 box.

Probably because it was renamed.. Now called Astro Go.. So we calling it AOTG is wrong already. I'm hoping a similar glitch will occur with the Minix Neo U9-H.. CNY sales drama incoming..  brows.gif

Not quite. When I follow your link,AstroGo is listed in play store as incompatible to my phone.

Looks more like they are restricting the usage of the app to more targeted devices.

Just like Google youtube for TV. When I go to play store to search it on the phone, one will not be able to find it.

P/s: funny that when i do the search on my tv box, it is listed.

So AstroGo is compatible with my TV box but not on my phone. LOL.

People are complaining the exact opposite of what you are facing, ie youtube for tv is working but not the phone version.

I try to install Hypptv everywhere from Google play to my Himedia Q10. But i can't install it. It say Incompatible device. What is wrong btw?

App developer sets the restriction. Just like why you can't find youtube for tv on play store. Your device properties are set in 'build.prop'.

This is for firmware upgrade from android 6?
*
There are a few types of firmware, each is designed for different use.

There is one type of firmware called 'update' format, those are for use with updater and recovery. They don't erase your data partition, and thus you retain most of your config and apps. They may include special upgrading/migration scripts to maintain compatibility to your old config.

There is also this type to be used with usb cable and usb flashing tool. Before starting to flash, you can choose to erase or not erase the flash. Erasing the flash will mean all your customization are gone. But if you are coming from Android 6, usb flash a Android 7 rom without erasing flash can cause data incompatibility. You might experience crash if you install without erasing flash.

There are also the SD card format and TWRP backup format.

The links have got a few roms. But my guess it is not in 'update' format.

Thx for the heads-up bro. I was curious whether this was the 'update' update or flash recovery update. Nevertheless, I'm gonna do some search / homework at those forums prior to actually updating my unit.. unless 6.0 is more stable, I'd remain it as it is.  Currently, I just slap it with Nova Prime launcher and some widgets.. keeping it simple.
*
Meaning you have no problem using 7 now ?

Maybe you want to create a x92 thread. I see this device got more users now, we talk too many x92 specific things here then we cloud the discussion on other boxes. smile.gif

i think it is ok to discuss x92 here. it's good if more ppl here use the same box.

even like 4pda forum, there will be certain boxes more popular than others on certain period. i think X92, BB2, Mini M8S Pro are more popular currently.

anyone here using MXQ pro+ 4k android box?  how is the performance  is it smooth ?

planning to get one of these with free channels.
*
As mentioned this box wifi is bad. If you are not depending on the wifi, you are ok. Free channels, don't hold high expectation. Good free channels do not come with high stability. Maybe able to use short while. You need to pay subscription to get consistent quality.

Create a new x92 thread and you can ask anything there. I can write endlessly about x92 firmware stuff.

I think he means that he found a seller selling the MXQ Pro+ but with apps included.. Got free lunch, just have to hunt a bit for it.. smile.gif  There are a few of such apps all floating around easily.. Got a few already posted in this thread, just need to go back a couple pages. Same with premium services, can Google search too.

Cloudtv follow mood one, the free channels comes with it sometime totally cannot stream at all. Unless you paid for their premium subscription.

i found this ..

MXQ pro+ 4k  + 2000 channels
https://www.lelong.com.my/mxq-pro-2g-16g-4k...7-01-Sale-I.htm

not sure worth it or not  for RM195
*
The seller probably makes RM50 or something from loading all kind of apps and stuff into the box. Some will be free, and some will have to pay subscription.

You can purchase it if you intend to subscribe to the subscription-based services. If you no plans to subscribe to the paid one, and just hoping to totally get content from the free channels, you will be disappointed.

It is normally not necessary to kill a previously started program in Android. The Android OS will go an kill it for you if it runs out of resources.

A lot of boxes are said to have auto framing rate issue.

I wonder if what is the way to test if a box has auto framing rate issue ?

Just play a few files with different fps ? What to look for if it has problem ? Doesn't it also depending on the TV ?

Is there a website where we can just go and visit and test out auto framing rate issue ?

Edit: As for a particular website to go test out such issues.. I'm unaware of one. Because, what we usually do is download the test files and play them on the device on TV and watching for abnormalities...aka, not smooth playback or TV's framerate not changing accordingly.
*
According to this video, this guy can't even get the TV to display anything when switching frame rate :-

It is not even stuttering !

Based on my setup and TV, I don't even have to adjust the Playback-->HDMI self adaptation, and the playback of different fps video is just smooth. Does it mean my firmware is not having auto frame rate issue ?
