As much as I hope that it's a rumor, there's no doubting that the new variation might appear soon as the DSL has already lived two years plus since it's introduction in 2006.

I wonder what's going to be new this time. It seems many are just reluctant to move on, including me tongue.gif

IMO. I dont think they will release a NDSL redesign. But maybe a whole new console in a few more years. But not so soon.

if gameboy advance is indication, i am sure there will be another redesign nds, just that i hope it wont be released after the next gen of nds has been released like gbm.

The reason is mainly due to a few factors I think.

1. There were many more Playstations compared to Nintendo's counterpart, the Nintendo 64 at that time. Why that? Our industry was the best for it at that time (hint: piracy) with cheap CDs being able to be mass produced so quickly that I could remember when FF8 reached it's release date, and in two days it appeared in game shop shelves. Nintendo's cartridges were hard to duplicate due to expensive hardware, thus not appreciated here.

2. Sony's games targeted mature gamers which was preferred over Nintendo's family oriented games. Unfortunately, Malaysians do not take embarassment very well, do we? laugh.gif Back when I was very young I could swear that playing Puzzle Bobble over one of the coolest series Twisted Metal could have you being smirked at.

The PSP is definitely there with it's great screen, range of games and multi-usage (MP3s, videos, surfing), but I just got too bored with the usual setup. I wanted something different this time, but the PSP hardly changed from it's bland configuration of directionals, four thumb buttons and two shoulder buttons which most consoles already have. It was just a few months ago that I got my NDSL, and I'm still happy with it. smile.gif

You can say that again, Sony's PS got its hype in Malaysia because of piracy, and that's what happening now with next-gen consoles.

Wiis and Xbox360s are more popular than PS3 not because of gameplays etc, its all because of there's Pirated games for the 2 formers, and none for the PS3.

Probably. I wonder what else they can improve from the DS Lite now. Dont want it to be smaller. Zzz.

Well, you pretty much have your answer there. As colin has said it. The PSP is rather boring. Just the usual Directional button combos and the Square, X, O and Triangle button. It doesnt offer that much. Plus, the PSP has a very very bad gaming drought.

Zack, go with what ur heart sets for u. it helped me thru.

I was also thinking of getting PSP first, but due to the uniqueness of the DS, that one comes first all the way.

Owh, and I haven't bought a nintendo handheld since GBC. tongue.gif

um not really, i enjoy the graphic in PSP, comparing ridge racer in psp and in ndsl, definately ridge racer in psp rocks more, same goes to bleach. I do own a ndsl, and i can say psp and ndsl target different gamers, some games does not exist in psp like pokemon and some game like tekken will not exist in ndsl. DS lite looks really fragile to me, imho psp is more solid in term of built. However I should say both of them serve me well and i enjoy both of them very much~

Yes i agree with you , for fighting and racing games , personally the game will be more fun if the graphic is better for these 2 genre of games.

Personally , i prefer NdsL as i had both before cos firstly i prefer the DS games more interactive and fun yet addictive

PSP never strikes me addictive at all since i had it for almost 5 months and tried as many games as possible

And also both tried to play it with online , DS wins completely in this biggrin.gif

Um, nowadays PSP is getting bored as there isnt any nice games. Yes there are a few nice one being released however they are in japanese language, i don understand, there for i dont play. Why play when we dont even understand the story? Games like Phantasy Star Portable is nice but only in Jap at the moment.

On the other hand, NDSL do has a lot a lot of games and everyweek also got a few new games. However out of those games, only a few which is nice, most of them is crappy games. There are some really nice game though but not all ~

PSP takes a long long time to release a game however the quality is there smile.gif

NDSL got nice games too but most of the cartoon games based on movie like hulk etc are crappy.

TetrisDS is one of my favourite game biggrin.gif , pokemon also haha~

That's a different reason altogether. Tekken is an exclusive game for Sony consoles, and Pokemon is the same in turn for Nintendo.

Don't get me wrong though, my friend recently loaned me his PSP for a few days, and I managed to try a few popular games, namely Crisis Core, Patapon, the Burnout series and the Monster Hunter series. There are a few good concepts there as well, and the graphics just kicks the DS off the ledge.

About the build quality, by overall it's fine but the compartment where the battery is kept should be seriously amended. I like my handheld consoles grippy and solid without any creaking sounds or 'loose' areas, and the engineers of Sony just had to put a shaky cover at the right hand side. That, seriously put me off.

The DS will never be a platform for fighting games. Doesn't anyone notice how hard it is to get the NDSL to register directions 1, 3, 9 and 7 properly? tongue.gif

duh, based on what do u make this statement? you do realize that psp has lots of movie tie in games too and most of the time psp versions will be released simultaneously along with nds versions?

Have both PSP and NDSL, and NDSL is without a doubt better.

I think it's because it's more interactive, and IMO, I think that the multiplayer games on NDSL are much more fun compared to PSP tongue.gif

My BF also used to say PSP was better than NDSL until I got on the other day, after one week he couldn't resist and went out to buy another NDSL too. Now our PSPs are just sitting in a corner, collecting dust tongue.gif
