I'm going to buy a nintendo DS for my nephew tomorrow. I need to clarify something from pros here as the seller might say anything to persuade me and i don't wanna get cheated and I am useless at game consoles.
1. I've done some study about DSi and DSlite. It shows that DSi has screen size 3.25 inch while DSlite's is 3 inch. ...does it make a lot difference that would make u choose DSi over DSlite?
2. I saw threads in Garage Sale selling nintendo DS console. Some mentioned about additional stuff but more expensive (eg SD card). Will the console function without the SD card? please enlighten me what does it use for in a console exactly?
3. Does the console come with some games inside?
sorry for noob questions, but really need some guidance here.
1. Although the screen size is larger for DSi, the number of pixels on the screen remains the same. It's up to you if you want to pay a higher price for a larger screen + 2 VGA camera + downloadable DSiWare games (which can be saved in the internal memory) + music and picture viewer.
2. Both DS Lite and DSi does not need SD card to function. And DS Lite does not support SD cards natively without other 3rd party devices.
3. No built in games at all. DS Lite supports DS games (in cartridge form) and Game Boy Advance games (via its second GBA slot).
DSi supports DS games, DSi exclusive games (very few), and DSiware games which can be downloaded via its online shop channel (some apps are free like Flipnote Studio), however it does not have slot-2 so it can't play GBA games as well as some DS games that utilize slot-2 for extra accessories (like the guitar grip from Guitar Hero).
