Thanks for the advises!

Just wondering...the premium of investment link + medicard plan is not fixed price for the whole insurance period, It will be adjusted over time, right? Does it make sense to buy standalone medicard plan, if I am looking at pure 'medicard plan' & no investment?
*
if your concern is purely on medical coverage, yes getting a standalone medical card plan does make sense. of course provided you are aware that the premium will be very high during retirement age. even by getting ILP, the cost of medical insurance will also be very expensive in the future. just that for ILP, upfront you are 'paying' more to cover future cost.

best is if you made a comparison between both plans given by agent. for example lets say comparing an ILP (with Room&Board RM300) and a standalone medical coverage (with Room&Board RM300). End of the day you gotta weigh yourself between both plans. wink.gif you know the best decision for yourself.

Is paying premiums annually cheaper than monthly?
*
for ILP plan, premium is the same whether u pay annually/monthly.

for traditional plans, paying annually is 5% cheaper compared to paying monthly. (for Great Eastern, not sure about other companies)

I agree with that approach. Where can I start to get to know what agencies are out there? Just some simple Google search will do? Or best to get recommendations from fellow forumers/sifu, etc
*
hey! come to think of it. the easiest you can do is meetup with few of us here that you feel comfortable with. since you are already chatting here. why not meet few of us here while you seek for other agencies? from there you will know what you are looking for easily. wink.gif

p/s: hope to meet you up!

the 90k deductible will be covered by your medical card. basically, after extending your annual limit, you are able to claim 990k annually.

put it this way, not all agents are perfect. in that case lets say that happened, you can go up to the company and talk to customer service too. btw for your existing policy that your agents aren't servicing you, you went up to the company to do self-servicing?

any insurance medical card cover outpatient stroke treatment?

hmm... so far generally is only cover in the period of post-hospitalization. after the post-hospitalization cover days exceed, then no longer can claim for outpatient treatment already.

Hi annachen! Premium wont keep increasing by age but there is no guarantee that premium will not increase in any point in the future. Of course if you do upgrade (add riders/sum assured coverage), then premium will be revised.

Nevertheless, insurance charges will increase by age. smile.gif

Not necessarily, premium CAN increase with age when the condition is fitting. If the agent does not keep a good slack then you are bound to pay more premium a few years after the cost of insurance intersects the premium. Based on the example below, if the investment amount is depleted, a few years after subsidizing the premium (to keep it fixed at RM200/m as per the example), then you would need to start paying extra premium a month just to keep the insurance

yeap u r right. what i mean is it wont keep increase drastically like every year. when new premium is revised, i guess company will revise it and make sure it can sustain (of course not guaranteeing how long it can sustain). so long as policyholder is aware that premium is not guaranteed throughout the period then it is good enough. better still if we agents calculate the insurance charges then only come out with the quote that can sustain the policy longer. like u said, keep a good slack of insurance charge at the same time balance in between policyholders' premium and the amount for them to do their personal investment too.

yeap u r right. most importantly is customers buy the protection they need and with the premium that they are paying, make sure they are aware with how long can that policy sustain. at least they need to be told that with the minimum premium for that amount of protection (client always request for the most minimal premium to have that amount of protection), how long can the policy runs. so long they know what they are paying for, i think thats very good enough. normally what i do is proposing the lowest premium (for example term insurance) plan and tell them whats in it for them, then at the same time give them alternatives if they looking for additional riders.

anyway, your info is very educative! rclxms.gif hope can meet up and learn more from u eh!

if your plan is not a standalone medical plan, yea you can reduce monthly premium. just there you might need to "throw"/reduce some insurance coverage benefits. it depends also. your agent will be able to help u with that! icon_rolleyes.gif

Hello, I hope this is the right thread...
I just got an interview with Allianz for this Friday and would like to ask for some tips for starting up as an agent? Perhaps tips for the interview itself and introduction to the job line?
*
hmm... what tips will you like to know? job scope is mainly self initiative to see clients, see through their insurance planning in life and you come out with something that can solve their needs.

Based on previous replies and reading up the company's website, my understanding of an agent's role seems pretty similar to any other sales job then.
Also, I heard there might be an examination before one can begin the career (PCEIA according to Allianz's website). Is it compulsory for all companies? And if so, do you have any tips for the usual test content?
*
yeap that one is a compulsory test before you can be contracted as an life insurance agent with a company. it seems like a sales job but trust me, it brings more meaning compared to any other sales out there. dont see it as a sales job. very difficult to explain through text. anyway, you will learn more when you are in the field. enjoy! wink.gif

as of now since the GL is rejected, just proceed what you can proceed with. only after treatment is done then only submit the claim manually and it will be subjected to company's investigation.

as for your kid's case, just ask agent to write in and declare.

get another insurance policy for medical or life? you can definitely get another insurance policy, must remember to ask agent to declare then it will be fine. then see what will be the conditional of acceptance for the new insurance policy.

for your existing policies, i think it is very difficult for us here to give you advise as we do not know the detail of your policies. best is to maintain them first. wink.gif

with that 3k yearly premium and 40% allocation rate (1.2k), refer to your cash value table, insurance charges will be deducted from the allocated 1.2k, whatever remaining goes to cash value. did you ask your agent to clarify also?
