Just got a CFG70 24" @ RM17XX from Lazada (XX as I can't remember). Got it with 20% discount and a free Razer Deathadder.
Display: Best if you take a look at videos online. The display colors are fantastic and typically Samsung. Backlighting is awesome and can be blindingly bright, but can be adjusted to a very comfortable level. Colors are vivid and supposedly of a wide gamut – I can’t testify to that but it looks great. No QHD / 4k here but response times are fantastic.
Functions: 3 buttons at the bottom gives the ability to swap between presets. I find them super useful. One for quick FPS like games give the ability to have better contrast and ability to spot better. One for RPGs gives fantastic blacks, vivid colors to truly immerse one into the game and the other – Eye Saver Mode to be there for work. Brilliant. Am sure the control mechanism had been talked about a few times but using a joystick method to navigate the monitor menu is a brilliant idea. This is the easiest monitor to get to grips with, and with controls so easy – you won’t mind rifling thru the menus to look for settings.
Cost: Expensive. This is not a budget monitor. But I reckon if one is getting a good gaming PC, the most important thing is to get a good monitor. The Samsung is great. With 144Hz support and Freesync – this encourages a decent RX480 build and you are good to go.
Verdict: 10/10 would buy.

I agree.. using 27CFG70 here..27inch version.. Its really a good gaming monitor...
my previous monitor was a Asus MG279Q IPS 144hz monitor, colours on the CFG70 can match with the IPS panel but CFG70 has better contrast...
recommended monitor

I saw the sale on Lazada, the preoder has another additional RM200 discount, was tempting but didn't buy it cause my current monitor is still working fine.
It uses the new Quantum dot panel, wondering how is that compared to IPS and VA.

CFG70 can match the IPS but with better contrast and yeah..i preordered from lazada.. RM2099 - RM200 discount + Razer Deathadder And Razer MousePad free = RM1899..good deal This post has been edited by edthrax: Feb 17 2017, 02:46 PM

How is it when viewed from afar like may 2 meter from the screen? Most curve monitor has a best viewing point, but I sometimes sit father from my screen when watching movies and not gaming.

Sigh. haha..usually people say IPS is the best, so thats why i said CFG70 can match MG279Q.. since AMVA is known to be inferior interms of colours compared to IPS.. but not the case for CFG70.. the colour is really good.. Well actually CFG70 is more than a VA panel. It's a quantum dots display (QLED) which rivals OLED panels in terms of picture quality, at least according to the articles I've read. I'm surprise this review did not mention any of this information. Anyway, what's of the fate of your MG279Q?

Because I heard there would be banding/blur/unclear if 1080p on 27inch monitor

Because I heard there would be banding/blur/unclear if 1080p on 27inch monitor u wont notice on gaming .. but text , web browsing , yes it is not as sharp as a 1440p panel.. i think 24 inch is max for 1080p for sharpness.. 27 inch best on 1440p.. but in game, wont notice much especially on fps or fast pace game.
