QUOTE(vez @ Jul 4 2017, 11:46 AM)
how much you bought it? a lot cheaper than RRP?
could be refurbished set if you bought it cheaper, there are cases like this, but DiretD is reputable, perhaps go back to ask them, maybe someone inside do so  shakehead.gif

If based on the purchase receipt it is RM3489.62.
Planning to go there next weekend as I'm not in KL atm.
Hopefully can get new set.

Apple do provide warranty for their cables however for defects from factory. Defects due to wear and tear I don't thick possible. I remember during my time using iphone 4, i tried warranty replacement, however due to some damage to the outer sheath of the cable, my claims were denied. Anyway those apple supplied one does not last and do a fairy crappy job, so best rely on other cables. Pay a bit more but you do get the performance and reliability.

I did look for these exact cables but couldnt find here. So I opted with the nylon braided version. Been using it for a year and it has been reliable. Its capable of supplying 2A too. Partner it with the 12Watt ipad charger, my ip7 charge time lessen considerably. For RM70@0.9meter length, its a good buy. Another brand that you could also look at would be the Aukey lightning power cables. They also come in nylon braided armor. Comparable performance but Anker is better. Those are around RM55. Google and the local distributor is listed.

Try one of the gadget shop at Low Yat, top level. Can’t remember the name but they do have plenty of choice with cables & chargers.

Settled already. Their staff mistakenly sold March promo unit (RM3199) and the warranty for the promo units started in March (although i dont understand why and how). They still claim it is a new unit, not used/refurbished/display unit.

Offered me 500 refund to continue with the unit, or get new replacement set.

Which one will you choose?
If it was me, I'd take that RM500 refund and sell it off. laugh.gif

Definitely the kevlar ones offer ultimate robustness compared to the nylon versions. But those do have the price factor. Been using the nylon braided ones and honestly, they do well for my usage.

Good to hear you got your issues settled. With reputable vendors, sure settle one.

i see...

a quick check on lazada both types selling roughly same price...

so you would suggest to go for kevlar if they are of same price ?

Those kevlar versions during my time were much dearer. If given the choice, I'd go for the kevlar versions. But before committing, check its model type with the MFI listing. It should be listed as those nylon braided ones I'm using are certified by apple safe to be used.
