Guys kinda need input from your side. My golden hamster is around one and half year old d, every night I will let it roam free at my living room, usually can climb 3 step of stairs, climb up sofa, curtain, bucket. Every night really active from 8.30pm~2am, than go back to its cage itself.
Suddenly last week, it's not active anymore, look very weak, even if came out also <2 hour than go back to it's cage d. It's bottom always wet, kinda like wet itself. No appetite anymore, size noticeably smaller. Call and consult few Dr. but they mention not familiar with hamster. So any suggestion? Located in Penang Anybody with similar experience?
- TLDR - Hamster usually very active but suddenly became weak a week ago. - Seems always wet itself, when back to cage earlier.. - Call and consult few Dr. but they mention not familiar with hamster (Penang) - Anybody with similar experience?

QUOTE(jfarm86 @ Aug 18 2017, 04:40 PM) Definitely wet tail, bring it to Vet ASAP. It might be minor while some serious case might cause death within a week. QUOTE(pandera999 @ Aug 16 2017, 09:56 AM) It's bottom always wetas you mention.. sounds like wet tail? QUOTE(ShinG3e @ Aug 16 2017, 01:53 PM) oh simple. diarrhea. chances are that little fella lick some dirt/or eat something dirty that causes it to lose appetite and not eat. i believe it also like to drag it's butt around? go for vet and get the antibiotic and a syringe (non-needle) and feed it twice a day (morning and night). after 24-48 hours should be fine and start eating again. around RM10+ for 2-3 drips of antibiotic from vets. p/s: clean your surroundings. they are a rat species anyway that is curious to touch/eat anything they see. Thanks for the feedback, unfortunately the little guy passed 4 days after visit the vet. It look really weak even after the medication, really sad cause suddenly felt empty cause no more hamster roaming the living room at night.

QUOTE(pandera999 @ Aug 23 2017, 10:01 AM) ohh.. so sad.. my condolence to you.... do u think there is something cause it in your room? time to clean up the room I clean the cage once a week, I let it roam my living room every night for few hour, there might be a lot of possible cause but nth can be done now I guess. I gonna miss it trying to follow you through sliding door to kitchen, climb the stairs just to try to get into empty dustbin and suddenly climb onto sofa unnoticed. Never expect I would sob for days because of 1 hamster..
