Hi folks,

Just asking if anyone has any ideas where to repair computer speakers. I have a Logitech Z906 set from 2012 that only recently went faulty. While watching a video, the power just cut out, and now I can't turn it on again. I tried to ask a speaker repair guy whether he can take a look at it, but he said he doesn't repair computer speakers. I already bought a new Razer Leviathan as a replacement, but would like to repair the Logitech Z906 if possible. Anyone can give me some pointers on where to repair it? Thanks.

I've stopped buying Logitech speakers after both my Z680 & Z5500 dies after 4 ~ 5 years of usage
Now very happy with Edifier S550, better build quality & better sound quality

Still kicking ass 6 years & counting thumbsup.gif

Logitech used to be reliable, but not anymore. I have a Z680 too, which did die on me. But since it was still under warranty it was fine. Fingers crossed, the Z680 is still kicking after sent to RMA. This Z906 though, I can't say much.

bro, i using the Z906 for so many years still kicking.
i had this problem couple of times before.
you may check your power supply source to the z906 first.
try to plug it into individual, not in the same multiplug power extension/adapter.

Hope this help.

Ok, I tried to plug into a different power socket, and it did power up. BUT, that was just the subwoofer and control panel connected. Once I connected the speakers and tested, the power cut off again. It seems the speakers can only power on for a brief time, then it fails again. So there really is something wrong with my Z906. Ah well.

Any shop you can recommend for me? I've never been there before, but I heard that you can pretty much find parts over there.

I tried send mine to pudu there. The repair kinda of not worth it, the person told me that the board fuse already need replace a new one which cause about RM 600 + labour. Need about 2 week.

whoa, RM600 and 2 week? The speaker cost how much when bought?

Better buy a new one then.

Yeah that's kinda expensive for a repair job. Buying a new Z906 is out of the question for me though. I bought mine in 2012 for 1200 only. But I noticed that it's even more expensive these days!

Hi,

It seems all of us end up with the same problem after some time. I didn't repair mine, because no one seems to know how to repair them. But I can tell you the problem is the console panel itself. Logitech apparently used to sell it as a spare part, but they no longer sell it. Something tells me they knew it was a common problem with the Z906. So they more or less force you to buy a new one if you still want to use it. This sucks. By comparison, my old Z680 is still alive since 2005, and counting.

Hey! My control console stopped powering up. What did you do in the end? Did you sell the speakers?
