xionid, would you have the time to experiment with whatever you have so far instead of getting higher tech equipment?
Here is a summary of how Tasty videos are shot. There is also a tutorial on how to use an iPhone camera for shooting Tasty-esque videos.
Interesting. So they used 2 c-stands and a should be a back drop pole to get table top downward view. Cheaper lighter versions of c-stand are light stands.
Food is more focus on set up and less focus on camera. So spend money on getting light stands/backdrop sets,
Here's some stuff that can probably help with the setup:
Backdrop stand set - just under RM 300

http://www.gstrapinuse.com/index.php?main_...products_id=834One of these Clamps or a Vice grip to mount camera. Just under RM 80
http://www.dgcoloronline.com/index.php?rou...&product_id=210or
http://www.gstrapinuse.com/index.php?main_...roducts_id=1229Then a tripod with ball head. You can take that ball head off this tripod and then attach it to the clamp as mentioned just above, so easier to get the angle. And the whole tripod can be used for close up shots. Priced under RM 240.
http://www.gstrapinuse.com/index.php?main_...products_id=937Then now its LEDs which you can get too cheap with them, but they useful if you want consistent results and not depend on the right daylight and time of day. This one seems good and less than RM 440 each.

http://www.gstrapinuse.com/index.php?main_...products_id=958For LEDs you should get 3, but if you're on a budget just get 2 and experiment.
So all that above is already around
RM 2240. Not even including camera or even the table that the food be shot on.
Then you got to stand money on Getting a nice table, plates and other stuff to get a nice food layout. People hire food stylist to do this job so that's how important set up is!
FYI all that stuff above can be sold off 2nd hand so if you don't want it anymore you can always liquidate it and not take 100% loss.
