Pleasing the palate: Customers can choose from a variety of bouquets made up of fried chicken, fruits or vegetables for their partners during Valentine’s.
This Valentine’s Day, edible and yummy bouquets made up of fried chicken, fruits or even vegetables are available for those whose partners have a healthy appetite.
If your loved one likes fried chicken, there is a choice of original or spicy, or even Korean fried chicken.
“Ever since we uploaded a picture of our custom-made fried chicken bouquet on social media last year, many people have placed orders,” said Annyeong Flower owner Michelle Wong, 25.
Wong said the trend of gifting fried chicken bouquets has been all the rage in Korea.
This practice, she said, has caused quite a stir in Malaysia since last year.
She said the bouquets, which consisted of six or 12 pieces of chicken, are sold from RM200 onwards.
Although the usual flower bouquets are still preferred by others, Wong said that these food bouquets seemed unique.
“It leaves the recipient quite stunned, besides prompting a good laugh,” she added.
Wong said that the “fruity” bouquets were also a big hit as they look nice and have a sweet fragrance.
“These bouquets are made up of bananas, strawberries, raspberries, blackberries and others,” she said in an interview.
For those who prefer greens for a good fibre intake, there is also the option of a vegetable bouquet.
Mazzo di Fiore florist shop founder Lim Li Jun, 30, said her shops have been selling vegetable bouquets for a few years.
These gifts, she said, were the most popular on Mothers Day.
“We have had bouquets made out of a broccoli, mushrooms, cherries, carrots, spring onions, chillies and others,” said Lim, who added that they used organic vegetables as they were larger and fresher.
The prices, she said, would depend on the current price of the vegetables.
Many customers enjoyed their made-to-order service, as they could gift a personalised bouquet, she added.
