Now we have All-in-One Internet Security software.

My question is that whether getting those is better than getting some separate softwares.

Example like Symantec Norton Internet Security 2006 VS Symantec Norton Anti Virus + Lavasoft Ad Aware.

Will Symantec Norton Internet Security 2006 perform better than Symantec Norton Anti Virus + Lavasoft Ad Aware joined together?

Personally i believe that having separated utilities would be better since they are specialized in their main/specific task respectively. for instance, Symantec Norton Anti Virus (expert in virus disinfection)+ Lavasoft Ad Aware (expert in spyware)
however, separating security software may lead to higher consumption of resources

my opinion, i think separated software are better than all-in-one.

we can choose what software we want and by this, we can save some more space rather than install everything in all-in-one.

besides, separated software are more reliable and show good performance than all-in-one

I wish to differ. In fact, having either All-In-Ones OR Separate Applications is just as fine. The only difference is that you CAN'T configure AIOs BUT you CAN configure Separate Security Applications Freely.

BUT then again, I must agree with what synz mentioned. In fact, that is my most favorite advice (biggrin.gif). But, if you are a newbie, stick with AIOs. Less Hassle, Less Complications, Less Conflicts, Adequate Security (I said Adequate ONLY, NOT PERFECT!) (smile.gif)

BUT, If you are an adventurer like some of us, AND you know what you are doing, Try Separate Applications. It does give you more security anytime. Cheers!

All-in-one package are sometimes toooooo bloated.

I prefer to go for variety as I've different preference in different kind of security software

Currently using
------------------
Windows Firewall
Windows Defender
Avast! Antivirus

like natakaasd said, i prefer seperate software becoz all-in-one software cant let you configure many things for it.
like the NIS, which didnt have many option and sometimes i dunno what it had blocked...

now using
Sygate Personal Firewall
Active Virus Shield
Lavasoft Ad-adware SE

Mmmm... This seems to be an all FREE combination, so that's a plus side. Is there any all-in-one free that can compete? If not than for poor people, they can only choose Seperate software.

I disagree. Although some are rich they still prefer to use freeware as provides the same protection at no price. It's not a matter of "ks".
