QUOTE(wongmunkeong @ Aug 3 2017, 11:19 AM) Clarifications - U trading or investing? If one doesn't know what's the difference, better be clear first the difference THEN use the right tool or vehicle, and method(s) - trading <> investing, like herbivore <> omnivore Just a thought - no absolute right/wrong ya, just be aware of what U want to do and choose the right tools/methods. Sorry I'm new on this. Investing is more like passive income that accumulate over time right? And trading is selling and buying in a short term? I just move my money from maybank GIA-i to RHB CMF not long ago This post has been edited by young_97: Aug 3 2017, 11:30 AM

QUOTE(T231H @ Aug 3 2017, 11:41 AM) » Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « CMF gives a return of approximates 3.6% pa thus per month is about 0.3% returns to see if there any Unit Trust / Fund that we can just buy and sell after 1 month and have higher profit than the CMF ? see and do as per attached picture step by step (just 4 steps) Please note: Sales charges are not included. Investment involves risk. The price of securities may go down as well as up, and under certain circumstances an investor may sustain a total or substantial loss of investment. Past performance is not necessarily indicative of the future or likely performance of the fund. Investors should read the relevant fund's prospectus for details before making any investment decision. An Investor should make an appraisal of the risks involved in investing in these products and should consult their own independent and professional advisors, to ensure that any decision made is suitable with regards to their circumstances and financial position.Remember: after you had seen the lists of top 1 month returns funds....scroll down the list..there are also the listing of lowest 1 month returns funds too.... People tell me UT/Funds need to put at least few years for profit.... well.....some can make and had said they made 30% or more in just 6 mths.... if you managed to get the right funds and at the right time..... (use the above data chart...select the different time duration to see for your self) but the question most would ask is......are you so good to be able to managed to get them at the right time during this short duration? would following the last month top winner helps? well, can try and prepare to be surprised.... Thanks, will look into It QUOTE(vincabby @ Aug 3 2017, 11:49 AM) speaking as someone who have gia-i before they kamikaze their products and being in FSM at the same time, you cannot have the same mentality with your gia-i here. if you put here, you will get higher than gia-i for sure, but it's over 3 years average to actually see results. if you want a month to month thing, cmf is the only place for you. however, i know how you are thinking regarding interests and hoping to find something similar to eGIA-i, sadly, you won't find another one like that for awhile. those were good days. Either PMMMF or CMF i guess QUOTE(wongmunkeong @ Aug 3 2017, 12:32 PM) » Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « yup - in summary/big pix, U understand the difference between investing (buy, track/monitor & hold with longer term intentions & capabilities like >3 years. Personally, i take it as >10 years) Vs trading (buy / sell turnover much faster - depending on what method U using, can be daily day trader or months swing trader or etc etc.) If U understand the above AND Equity-based UTs with their various charges (front load, back load, mgt fees, etc.), most folks wouldn't trade them - more lucrative (cost & profits) to trade stocks, options, forex, property flipping, etc. then of course, there are some expert trades here that do use trade UTs and if U decide that's the way for UTs for yourself, then get in touch with these expert traders of UTs by PMing or posting here with theirname to trigger them Just a thought - no absolute right/wrong ya So far i placed in CIMB-Principal Asia Pacific Dynamic Income Fund, seems the fund is performing well, might place for 3 to 6 months

QUOTE(-TcT- @ Sep 27 2017, 11:58 PM) Ahhh. No wonder. Can I know where FSM credit the dividend to? Sorry. I'm newbie... tq Will be reinvested back to your UT. Takes around 2 weeks to reinvest, so the dividend may not show up on your portfolio. You will receive email when the dividend reinvested

QUOTE(Amanda85 @ Oct 27 2017, 04:50 PM) may i know when there is dividend declaration which resulted in a steep drop of NAV, do you add more fund into it, while the NAV is low? QUOTE(AIYH @ Feb 9 2017, 11:11 AM) (iii) Topping up my holdings after dividend distribution pulls down my cost per unit, lower cost = higher profit.Just a simple example to illustrate, but that's essentially how it works... You hold 100 units at RM1.00 each. RM1.00 x 100 = RM100Let's say you get 10 units extra from distribution. After distribution you hold 110 units at RM0.9091 each. RM0.9091 x 110 = RM100 Now, let's assume you top up RM10 after ex-date, RM10 / RM0.9091 = 11 units bought Value of your holdings now: (110 + 11) x RM0.9091 = RM110 Initial value: RM100Top up: RM10Total: RM110 Yes, topping up after distribution ex-date brings your unit cost down. BUT AT THE SAME TIME the value per unit i.e. NAV price also comes down - IT MAKES NO DIFFERENCE whether you top up before or after ex-date. Cost per unit in UT means little in isolation, the difference between cost per unit and NAV price multiplied by your units held is what matters.
