QUOTE(Kokman @ Oct 28 2017, 11:21 PM) The fees do not make a difference if the buying is using fresh money (not fund switching). Buy 10 times of 1000 or buy 10000 in one shot you get the same total fees: 1750. But if switch within the same company, like Affin-Hwang to Affin-Hwang, it's free right ? (For FSM ? )It does matter for switching, so you should ideally reduce fund switching frequency if that would incur larger amount of money as fees. I would recommend quarterly switching not because of fees but for better portfolio (smoothing) management. 1.75% fees is not high. You definitely is able to see the spent money recover. Just need to be patient and not let the itchy finger takeover your brain :: Kokman :: |

Confusion about switching (intra and inter)
I know that for Intra there is no switching fee, but is there sales charge for the new purchase ? What about inter? |

QUOTE(funnyface @ Nov 6 2017, 03:56 PM) Quick answer: Last question Intra = same fund house, usually no charge and same transaction date between sell and buy Inter = different fund houses, almost same like you sell the current fund and buy new fund, standard sale charge applied. Do you guys consider the fund house during purchases? Cos easier to switch if needed Like a fund house with more options/other funds will be preferred over one that has very few options |

QUOTE(T231H @ Nov 12 2017, 11:19 PM) You are not concentrate in Asia but Northern Asia to be precise.... 47% of your port are invested into just 4 countries. Which app did you use to get the content in the image ? Can share ?if this Northern Asia is inclusive of Japan...lagi banyak %. Too concentrated on Asia ? some would just say YES, and some would just say "go big or go home"..... but the most importing think is "what do you think?" Any comment? my comment is reduce it to a more balanced and geographical diverse port......for a more sustained port at a lower risk. but it is up to individual preferences and likings...... as Sui Jau's said,...."You have to experience the emotional pull that comes from market ups and downs and learn how to handle your emotions during those times. And learning from mistakes made is the greatest teacher." FSM had this to said....."....you might have thought you are an aggressive investor who can cope with a high level of risk based on the results of the risk profiling test. However, in practice, if you find that you always panic too soon every time the market dips, and get overly euphoric and pump in more money whenever markets are on a roll, then high-risk investments are not so suitable for you because they are likely to cause you to lose money." |

If I were to buy a fund in a foreign currency, how would that work?
Is it possible to deposit using the banknotes for a foreign currency or do I have to pay in Ringgit according to their buying/selling rates? Usually those rates are shit How about withdrawal? Have to be made in MYR as well ? |

QUOTE(yklooi @ Nov 16 2017, 12:13 PM) just a note....sometimes i noticed (based on index falls) for some funds especially foreign funds.... Alright thanks for that. Just wanna catch a trend maybe. If 3 to 4 consecutive days drop then I will buy in, worked for me so farthe price you see today after 5pm is based on 2 days ago ex....India index fall 2% 1 Nov.........on 3 Nov the Nav will drops.... btw, why do you want to buy based on yesterday's price? you can get today's market closing price and it will be reflected in today's NAV after 6pm..by buying some local funds |
