ya.. but how down is down
AND
can we hold on?
OR
hands-forced coz cant hold due to fear
and/or
kaka happens & no/not enough emergency fund to pull through, thus forced to sell?

If recession happens this time, it will be unique compared to crash in 2008 and 1998. Due to pandemic, even the healthy companies may not be able to do business. Will lead to many chain effects. And oil another factor too..

During 2008, at least unaffected ones able to survive, plus less fear in the general masses. Now people even scared to go out. And we are not sure yet if vaccines could be found

QUOTE(GrumpyNooby @ Mar 23 2020, 08:49 AM)
Stock futures fell sharply on Sunday, indicating a lower open when Wall Street begins trading on Monday, as world governments race to contain the fallout from the coronavirus pandemic.

Contracts on the S&P 500 slumped 5% just minutes after overnight trading opened at 6 p.m. ET Sunday, hitting the daily lower limit established by CME Group to prevent further extreme losses. Stocks held those lows as the stimulus bill being debated in the Senate failed on a key procedural vote, underscoring political divisions even as the outbreak grows more alarming.

Doesn't have a good experience with them.  dry.gif

I am cutting 1/3 of my precious metal fund holding
*
Any particular reason? You are putting into other better areas? KLSE seems too expensive now.

P/S Do you think gold and KLSE got similar relationships like US market and gold?

I personally avoided new funds because to me buying a fund is also placing a trust in the judgement of the fund manager. I can't see how is his judgement just by his relatively short performance. I would want to see not just what he purchased but his performance during extraordinary times of change.
*
Speaking about this. There are 2 funds caught my attention. Both are similar, but one is MYR and another is USD denominated, got the same fund manager. MYR -16% so far but USD +30%. Maybe i’ll put some into the MYR ones..

Yes you are right. If the top up is insignificant than the impact is also insignificant to the overall portfolio.

Edit: I got a feeling that gold is about the make another run to challange the previous 52 weeks high.
*
Why do you think gold will be up again? Second wave covid, recession or unlimited QE?

p/s : my analysis is only true for me.

I only see price action and therefore my analysis is backward looking. I just notice that the price of gold is turning higher while others is slowing down. Gold refuse to drop even after the surprise job numbers. It has now climb back above 17xx again. Excellent risk reward.

What do u think?
*
True, after the job numbers it falls a bit but quickly go up again. My take is the stocks recover too fast and it is good to take precautions.

I exited KLSE-based funds a couple months ago. Any of you think it is a good time to re-enter now since KLSE retreated quite a bit?
