Looking to increase some exposure in the US market through united global healthcare. Do you guys think its a better option than ta global tech whereby the price looks abit too high to enter at this moment?

hmm.gif how do you know the price of united global healthcare fund is NOT high too?

if you mean that the NAV of  ta global tech is higher than united global healthcare fund?
if yes, maybe this can help to explain it?

Mistakes to think UNIT TRUSTS WITH LOWER NAVS ARE BETTER BUYS

Thanks thats a good read. Jst started to dabble more into unit trust this year and still learning.

My mistake actually ta global tech's NAV is lower than united healthcare. Currently i am skewed towards healthcare as i feel the optimism in this sector will rise especially once the vaccine development's success rate increases. But thats just my opinion and i could be wrong though.

imo
we should look for the long term, especially with unit trust.
if got time, you should follow/read/understand the medical/bio tech/genetic modification

the healthcare/biotech sector probably will become the next boom. (not due to covid19)

QUOTE(wendygoh @ Jul 12 2020, 09:48 PM)

I don't see anything signalling an accelerating uptrend for healthcare right now. It is sort of moving sideways now with slight bias to the upside but it's underperforming relative to US tech. I would hold off for now. Keep those powder dry. Patience is a virtue in this case.

Thanks all for the inputs. Will evaluate more on this.

uncle still newbie

QUOTE(GrumpyNooby @ Jul 20 2020, 03:00 PM)
Fund offered for qualified investors only.
You need to do "PRE-QUALIFICATION DECLARATION".

Example: https://www.fundsupermart.com.my/fsmone/fun...na-A-Shares-MYR
*
i know wholesale fund is only made available to sophisticated investors with a minimum net worth requirement and these fund normally comes with higher initial amount of investment required, e.g. RM10k and above

Just to share i have reached out to fsm before and was told that those who do not meet the minimum requirement as "sophisticated investor" can actually still purchase a wholesale fund so long you know what you are investing in

I calculated, and compare the return of FD vs decision I make to take out FD and put in UT
The result is the return of UT for 1 yr is equivalent to return of FD for 5 yr.
So it mean that if I still keep my money in FD, I need 5 yr only can get the same return

am still wary to ride the trend though. If history were to repeat itself and takes a tumble, it may take years before being able to break even again

if not for the recent gold rush in recent months, investors who had invested at the peak in 2012-2013 will still be in red

First sign for gold to tumble is when Federal Reserve reverses its stand and starts to hike interest.

means it may still be a good short term alternative of say a year or so?

Some analyst has been forecasting that gold could touch USD 3000 per oz in a year time provided current atmosphere is more or less maintained or weakened further.

I am more worry about the US actually. Momentum slow down by a lot. I see the correlation to gold turn negative already. Not sure if this is back to normal correlation or hint of something else.
*
in the end still invest at your own risk lol. aside, jst saw eunittrust extended their 0% sales charge to end sept from aug.

Wish fsm can have more frequent promos like theirs

Looks like eunittrust is more aggressive. 1.75% vs 0% is no brainer for me. Ofcos i know some dont mind 1.75% for better user interface accessibility and service

This month is Merdeka month.
FSM will have a campaign coming in but doesn't expect it to slash to 0%.
From past years, it should be 0.57% or some symbolic number.
*
Nice not aware of this since only started fsm early this year. Thanks.
