QUOTE(killdavid @ Jan 7 2021, 09:44 AM) Hello investors, good day to top up your funds with tencent and alibaba holdings. Big reactions in comming with US threat to ban investments on these 2 companies Just my opinion if to time the market i would wait till next week and see how.for example the related Greater China UT (ES Dxxx fund) i hold is in all time high. even if today drop 4% it would only wipe up the gain of last few days only. if direct buy baba stock maybe can start monitor and enter. just my sharing... no buy sell call lol |

QUOTE(jj_jz @ Jan 20 2021, 12:34 AM) Anyone have their eyes on Indonesia fund? Manulife investment Indonesia equity fund?I have some bullet ready for the once-a-year (0 sales charges) but still looking around. Current Portfolio: (High-Risk Appetite) 25% on China, 15% on Malaysia, 10% on Asia ex Japan 40% on Global and 10% on Emerging Sector is quite diversify I would say, although I am tech-guy, where 30% is specifically on tech fund. Have my eyes on Indonesia fund or the Affin Hwang Select Asia (Ex Japan) Quantum Fund - MYR. Anyone can share their opinion? I plan to start add this and my target is 5% of my portfolio by end of this year, to gradually replace the gold securities fund and Malaysia equity fund I hold. If you think Indonesia will have the potential to grow and can take the risk, why not? Should not worry if DCA or buy per month/quarter. |

would like to know how you guys choose between the same bond fund with different currency class?
for example: RHB china bond fund - MYR vs RHB china bond fund - RMB if just park for future switching purpose, is it better to choose the one in ringgit currency? |

QUOTE(koo89 @ Jan 23 2021, 04:22 PM) haha same for me. Seems to be quite agressive butif he has 2million ringgit in EPF account then no problem. We shall let him updating us whether this strategy will work or not after 5 years. ^^ I like the donât be greedy said by FSM GM. looks that too many people FOMO and want to join the recent bull.. already have many people around me discussing about buying tech fund tech stock ... last time I heard them so active is during glove peak, gold break 2k+ and few weeks ago bitcoin.. hmm...I think it is difficult to replicate the return because: a) how many funds are there able to generate return more than 10%PA for the last 10 years? Many can generate exceptional return for few years but consistently to get 10%PA for 10 years is pretty difficult. b) Are we overly optimistic on the market? can we expect the fund price to go up 10-20% every few months? Is it realistic? Even individual stock hardly able to achieve it. c) What happens if the fund price goes down by 5 or 10%? Cut loss of mutual fund? This is totally new to me. So in March 2020 I should cut loss all my stock and mutual funds? I would then lose the chance enjoying the gain post March 2020. Time in the market beats timing the market. d) 2020 is an unprecedented year. If you buy before early 2020, you are likely still having a decent gain till now. If you lucky to time the market by buying after COVID 19 and enjoyed the quick and super profit due to excess liquidity, would it be the same for the next few years? e) Check out the talk by FSM Malaysia general manager Wong WeiYi this morning. Many new investors are overly optimistic (greedy) recently. They haven't "taste" the downside of the market yet. I dont get a share if you gain but I feel sorry if you lose money and thats why I share my humble opinion here. Don't shoot me please. peace Personally I am doing "boring investing style" - DCA monthly aiming return of 8-10% PA. |

I would wait for the opportunity to top up UT related to China and US tech stock during next correction, as the market are overheat and I already have70% UT allocated in related equity fund. anyway in another platform they have also zero SC promotion until end of feb... I like their PM equity growth fund which gave me surprise many times.. I think one should not buy just because of FSM have 0% Sales charge promotion this week... killdavid, Fledgeling, and 1 other liked this post

QUOTE(MUM @ Jan 25 2021, 03:42 PM) Ya I bought my RHB AI fund in end of august during that all time high. And it drop more than 10% I think in the next two weeks, yes it did bounce back and getting more higher. But, if I wait at that time and buy when it drop at 5% even if have more patience wait until 10%, I earn 10% extra more already...For myself I will still buy but prefer to buy when it has discount, let it be 3%, 5%, 10% .. risk management for myself.. Just come out from kena trap in Bursa casino.. learnt to be more patience now WhitE LighteR liked this post

QUOTE(ironman16 @ Jan 26 2021, 06:16 PM) what i mean is good fund split i lagi suka bcoz unit that i hold become many (i know u ppl always said unit more or less is the same, i understand) Just bcoz United fund minimum holding is 1000 unit or minimum redeem is 1000 unit , with the split mean i can easily switch it (just my strategy only)..... UT fund price affected by the stocks it invested. The investor buy more UT fund will not push up the fund price isnât it? |

QUOTE(walnut6363 @ Jan 27 2021, 10:48 PM) Hopefully tomorrow crashes lol. To take advantage with 0% SC đ But careful dont catch falling knife Some people might say we cannot predict the future, just DCA, buy at what price not important, buy in zero sales charge to save 1.5% is important . As long as is DCA for long term, donât see after purchase and let the fund growsI think if have free time it is still better to consider also the price/timing to enter.. For Asia equity fund it is not that hard to estimate the today NAV price since the cutoff date is 3pm. Fledgeling liked this post

Most of my Asia pac and China equity drop 3-5% last week..
Anyway if your target is for long term investment.. keep DCA or continue buying if down more ... Especially to those first time purchased on last FSM event .. cheers ! |

QUOTE(monkey9926 @ Feb 9 2021, 08:53 AM) Yes I felt the same. eUT interface annoying and lagging. But it is good actually. After buy , I donât have the favourite to go their website to monitor daily. Like that also good, wonât be affected by daily price up up down down. Open once a month or once a quarter, most likely will feel good to see big growth |

QUOTE(jiajge90 @ Feb 16 2021, 03:21 PM) a very hi to all the sifus here, I am actually new to investment of funds. currently looking on fsmone and trying to scratch my head around all the funds that are available in the funds 101. I think it would be good for you to start from go through the recommended UT list last year released by FSM. And can use the tool inside FSM to find and compare funds for past performance From y'all experience, which funds is consider the best in overall? If look at long term investment maybe can look at the fund that related to currently bullish sector like tech, EV and recovery sector like financial related etc https://www.fsmone.com.my/funds/research/ar...=12306&isRcms=N |
