there is no perma friend nor enemies. It is all about sharing experiences. I recognised that there are more than one way to skin the cat.
If you think crytal - ball style works for you, then go ahead. If fsm managed portfolio is your cup of tea, go ahead. If Sai Lang kaw - kaw ala Cat kung-fu style, go ahead. At the end of the day, it is your money, your call. Xuzen |

QUOTE(cocbum4 @ Jul 19 2017, 12:04 PM) Just look at the number of ut fund to have to offer and not to mention new fund keep popping out while some poor performing fund may even when burst, ut is mostly if not slightly better than pbb mutual and most of them just worse than pbb mutual. The good one actually is very few among thousands of them, they are only legit because they have the license to do so, can jew imagine after some twenty to thirty years of holding them just to realize jew fund perform far worst than EPF have to offer? Spoken like a true ignoramus. If you are willing, hang around this thread and we will illuminate and enlighten you. I say hang around because I know you will not have the patient to read back past posts. Somehow, I have a very strong feeling you are not gonna hand around here. So adious amigo. QUOTE(jdgobio @ Jul 19 2017, 12:25 PM) I believe traditional finance concept states that Bonds/Fixed Income will yield better returns in bad times (interest is brought down by The Feds/Central Bank to discourage savings and encourage investments to spur the economy and thus bond yields goes up). What kind of bond funds will be the best for this scenario? Esther Bond for e.g. seems to be slow and steady and doesn't really go up a lot during a downturn. So its not really suitable for this scenario. What bond funds have negative correlation to most equities so that it shoots up to prop-up your portfolio during a downturn? Lai Lai come come, I give you Maggi Mee®: Cepat dimasak, sedap dimakan answer Which bond UTF has the most negative corr-coeff with the equity portion. If you answer correctly, I give you one candy. QUOTE(cocbum4 @ Jul 19 2017, 01:30 PM) It is just Ayam personal views Srly, what's up with the funny English? I am having difficulty understanding you. Can assist this old uncle and write conventional English or not? Can or not? I no speaketee Gen Z English... Ayam do not like to know some fund just cannot perform when every other fund is doing well. There is good time and bad time in the market Ayam only belip any fund will perform during good time, while bad fund do not perform even during good time. Why would anyone want to belip they are good? Xuzen p/s Just for the benefit of audience, a quick check with FSM website, there are more than twenty equity UTFs with above 6 % p.a. return for the past ten years. I use 6% as the KWSP benchmark. QUOTE(jdgobio @ Jul 20 2017, 06:20 PM) Give you 1 good example in this thread of someone who dislikes a certain fund and preaches against it but still kept it for a long time. This kind of indecisiveness is to be expected among the young and inexperienced. Knowledge is good but it gets better when its tempered with experience. The key is to learn from this experience. Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha..... Made my day! Complain this complain that, at the end of the day still wanna keep it. Macam a girl only! QUOTE(HahaCat @ Jul 20 2017, 08:53 PM) So many GURUS here discuss about strategy, how can I be excluded? Unker Xuzen, wanna chip in? Cat kung-fu style plus crystal-ball kung fu style? Hybrid? How ar? Today Gen-Y, Gen-Z change already. They are not like the Warren Buffets, once invest 30 years horizon. They want shorter, quicker and they are more aggressive. This is how I evolved as an investor. When I started 3-4 years ago. I used to have a diversified portfolio. With KGF etc. Then I started to see, in some year, no matter how good LEE SOOK YEE is, in 2016, she made me no money. And other funds goes up. On a 10 year average, LEE SOOK YEE FUND may be the best. But on a year to year basis, absolutely not. That is when I took Unker Xuzen's cystal ball + my kung fu cat style. And make this the core of my investment strategy: At any point when I buy a fund, I will do my own ground own research, with all the necessary numbers to support, justify and answer this question: "If I buy this fund, what is my expected return in 1 year. And is this a figure acceptable to me and is it align with my investment goal." If I am satisfy with the projections. I will buy, even if the whole world says NO. This is my money, this is the performance of my life. Let the show begins! Everybody wants kung-fu fighting, those those kicks was fast as lightning - Carl Douglas (1974) ================================== How come you no made money wan ar? Beacause you boh luck... why you go play play Lee Sook Yee in 2016? 2016 was Asia Pac time lar. Ponzi 2 and RHB AIF was the flavour of that time. Speaking of the above, I am your complete opposite, I played your style when I was in Pub-Mut. That means play one UTF only. Public Ittikal or Pub Small Cap or Pub Regular Saving.... those times also made money. Malaysia stock market was hot at those time from 2009 to 2014. There was no need to do diversification, boleh fund all the way. Take note, the Malaysian stock market only started to heat up recently, I think about half a year only. From end of 2015 to early 2017, she was in the duldrum, and this started when the One AmDeeBee fiasco came to light. But Malaysia small - cap, that was another wow story. Kapchai fund was the de rigeur fund from 2014 to 2015. If you are in it, you would have made some money. Kap-chai was somewhat like what Interpac Safi is today, to give a parable. Xuzen *** Kapchai fund is nickname for Eastspring Investment Small-Cap fund, which at this moment is closed. Those of you who are in it two years back.... congrats! BTW, you remind me of RO Player. His avatar is a cat, and the style of writing pun serupa je... Curiouser curioser! Month to date: Expect to hit 50K profit for month of July.
