for portfolio diversification purposes or to try to make some money in the next 12 months or try to make more money in the next 12 months?
*
I guess diversification. Last two weeks i exited 90% of my holding in Malaysian equities and place them in Amanahraya. Maybe I should rebalance back since the NAV is more attractive now.

Invested in one unit trust in Malaysia using EPF in second half of 2017.
As of today, 3 years later it is still -16.38%.
Timing do matter and some unit trust still losing money even after the long term. During mid 2017 -2018 , money was being pumped for the election so stock prices were at their high.
Really bought at the wrong time.

Type of fund is also important. I only choose the one with high rating e.g. Dana Ilham or PMB Premier for Malaysia

What is the outlook on the local property sector amidst such challenging times?

As COVID ravages through the economy, the local property sector is similarly affected. However, there are some budding factors forming which we look to highlight in this article.

Takeaway
All in all, the lackluster equity performance of the Malaysian property sector has been contributed by the challenges faced for the past few years. While weak earnings appear to be a dragger to the valuations, the record low interest rates, initiatives by the government, and the decent demand for local properties are likely to provide the much-needed support for the sector. These positives may suggest further downside risk to be limited going ahead. As such, we are selectively positive towards the sector especially for developers with affordable housing projects which stands to benefit the most from these candies.

New research by fundsupermart shows overweight towards Small Cap Asian Equities. However, all the suggested funds are non-syariah. Any suggestion for syariah ones?

while waiting for his response, i think maybe this...

Asia’s cyclical recovery is in full swing. Is it time to consider small caps?
The pieces are coming together for smaller companies in Asia

Looks like this one is more of big caps...
You need to see the top 5 or 10 holdings published in the factsheet to hv an idea

From my comment earlier. Principal Asia Pacific Islamic ex japan quite good. But top 10 holdings still show big companies. I think they invested in small companies too but with small allocation.

P/S unsure should topup or not when return is already quite high (From July/August this year i think?)

just not sure if you realised it....
just not sure if your risk appetite/risk capacity allowed it...
just not sure if you have other UT funds or have other investment platforms....

looking at the holdings that you have....
without looking at the % of each allocation into each funds.....looks like they are Heavy in Malaysia
*
Oh, its ok. My major allocation is in ASB and co-op. Low risk. I have a few in global and China (not shown there coz need to scroll upwards). But admittedly, for FSM, I’m leaning towards equities.

How much % you gonna top up in relation to the money current invested in that fund?
If currently I has 5k inside a China fund n now I gonna top up 100 into it,... For my appetite,.. I will Just top up
*
Maybe wrong wording. I’ve US fund (aberdeen) and dana dinamik only for now. If going to buy China, i’m thinking of 15% of my total capital.

IMO, split the 15% into 3, invest the first 5% and monitor it, if the market going down and you are still confident with it, average down.
*
Thank you sifu. I split my fund into 2 and will enter if it dips again

If I think the nav is gonna drop by anotherc10%,... I should focus on preserving my current 5k in that fund instead of fearing of losing 10 from my would be top up value of 100
*
Wow, thanks for the advice! Maybe gonna topup a bit more on my China fund. And possibly a bit on local funds too
