u guys play trust fund like stock?
*
Of course! We only buy UT that is trending above 200 MA brows.gif

Kidding notworthy.gif

Unit trust to me is just a basket of stocks + market outlook. If you think “wah 5g is coming”, you wont buy that one single stock right, better buy a whole basket of it.

Plus It is less volatile. My one single stock the other day have to stomach the -45% loss from early march. Syukur now breakeven ady.

But my unit trust? 5-7% drop? Haha

p/s : my analysis is only true for me.

I only see price action and therefore my analysis is backward looking. I just notice that the price of gold is turning higher while others is slowing down. Gold refuse to drop even after the surprise job numbers. It has now climb back above 17xx again. Excellent risk reward.

What do u think?

Chasing 20MA

Seconded. Most of the time you won't be able to "time" the purchase in UT, don't forget from the day you placed order till it gets priced, few days have passed.
Weekly.monthly DCA won't hurt, whichever makes the investor feel convinced.
*
And if u did time the market, is all depends on luck haha

Remember the monday drop kao kao? At night (15th) i go and switch all my funds to bond funds

Then next day 16th june, market recovers

Sekali i go and check my transaction, nasib, haha. They process it follow 16th’s NAV.

Then my RSP pula placed an order on 15th (during the monday drop).

If we place order before 3pm in FSM, it will be priced on that day's NAV. I called the FSM hotline to confirm.

In my case, it just so happenned that I managed to buy the 'dip' on 15th June and then when global stock markets recovered on 16th June onwards, I made a gain of 1.74% within 3 days.

Of course, this does not always happen.

Other investors have opined that DCA could be a better strategy.
*
Are you on RSP?

I think most users here who are on RSP “ngam2” bought the dip.

But we never know, manatau its only a light dip. A precursor to a far more devastating dip in the near future. biggrin.gif

if gain double digit profit, should we -
- switch it to low risk fund?
- or sell it?
- or just maintain it?
*
But dont think they wont charge you the 1.75%

Made a schoolboy error, i thought by switching from principal greater china to principal lifetime enhanced bond, then 1/2 of the bond back to china direct oppurtunities wont incur me any fees (cuz same provider - principal to principal)

Sekali kena. 1.75%

Guess i was wrong. Haha.

This is using cash account i guess,  my personal experience switching from PGTF to PGCF via epf i-invest, there is no switching fee, additional info for anyone considering it in the future, i switched after 1.5 month into PGTF, so definitely less than 90 days.
*
Nope. Haha. From principal bonds to principal china direct. Still kena

Sifus, which technology fund would you recommend? From FSM MY, the technology funds offered are:
1. TA Global Technology Fund (which invests in the target fund Janus Henderson Horizon Fund - Global Technology Fund)
2. United Global Technology Fund
3. Principal Global Technology Fund

However, FSM SG offers Franklin Technology Fund, which has really impressive performance. The Franklin Technology Fund even outperformed the S&P500.
*
Rm300 split into 3. Haha

But for me is TA Global
