yup, only charlatans can buy at lowest lows & sell out higher highs

also, if one is just collecting for far future eg. retirement's usage for 20 years +age now till retirement 20 years, if equities are "of value enough VS costs", nibble nibble based on asset allocation to fill is good enough for me. no one has functional crystal balls

heheh - yup. anyhow, good lar forums like these.
when many MANY happy posts.. i'll personally stay away / go hibernate.
when die lar die lar and low posts.. time to sniff the air & "check the traps"

My port as of 1/11/2018:

Last month [ Oct 2018 ] is now the worse performing month in the whole duration of my port's tracking, that is, 28 months of tracking.

The port gave a negative 5.XX% M-o-M return. This is the worse performing month ever recorded.

Because we dont know how much going down further.
If we keep DCA, then it goes lower and lower again. Never ending DCA.

I would rather wait it bounce to uptrend again. Then only jump in the boat.

just curious...
how do you set the criteria?
continue up tread for a few months?
continue up certain %?
continue up trend of x.x% over a periods of xx weeks?

does this trend starts at the "last" lowest point?

My signal is : WHEN THE FEDS DECLARES THEY ARE ABOUT TO STOP THE RATE HIKE.

But,... I will start buying-in when the STI hits 2500 points.

Whichever comes first,.. but ONE above will supersede TWO above ! ....

I like the fact that it is being advised by Value Partners now. Fund management company that I look up highly too. And Dato Cheah is a contrarion with proven track record as well. Interesting to see how they perform moving forward.

For now will play safe with CIMB Greater China (wife's port) and have some fun in Manulife Dragon (own port).

Just ignore the PRS. It is meant for long term investment anyway. Short term gain or loss does not mean anything.
