Doing fine, can SWAN - sleep well at night since I dont worry about that shares any more. Market now is too nervous, very sensitive knee jerk reactions with good and bad news. Not the sea I want to sail in now. But preparing for calmer sea or ocean after this storm.

By the way, what is ATH?

Any feedback on the 10% dividend tax I asked earlier?

Cheerio.

P/S  Why uncle, and not bro or sis? Ha.

Because i think you mentioned you were pretty senior(compared to me at least, i am just late 20s) or maybe close to retirement iinm.

Malaysia's air safety rating said to be downgraded
published : 11 Nov 2019
https://www.bangkokpost.com/world/1792004/u...ing-say-sources

The US Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) has downgraded Malaysia's air safety rating, restricting the country's airlines from adding flights to the United States, four sources familiar with the matter and a US government official told Reuters on Monday.
The new rating means the air carriers from the country cannot start new services and are restricted to current levels of any existing service to the US. The carriers would also be subject to additional inspections at US airports.
At present, the only Malaysian airline route to the US is AirAsia X Bhd services from Kuala Lumpur to Honolulu via Osaka.

Don’t think you should worry about it. MAS is wholly owned by Khazanah, and I doubt any funds will hold a significant amount of AAX if any

Thanks for sharing your opinion Hansel. Opening a SG bank account today is not impossible, but definitely difficult for Malaysians not working in SG.

The exchange rate for SGD to MYR has been steadily increasing, with SGD increasing in value and MYR depreciating. With regards to the current political scenario in Malaysia, I have little faith that MYR can catch up to SGD. People are looking to park their assets out of the country with the gloomy economic outlook in Malaysia.

With fintech services offering lower and lower conversion fees, I guess the cost of overseas investment has gone down.

I agree that the Singapore investment market offers plenty of alternatives, compared to the Malaysia market.

It was really easy to open a CIMB fast saver account though, did it within days via their website. Using it to fund my FSM SG account

some investors of their Managed portfolio does not innocent.gif  like to see a lot of paper losses, they have to cater for those people too....
*
So you are paying them to keep your money ?

Better do that yourself for free and invest directly what you are willing to risk .

some people cannot do that investing thing
just like there are still people paying for 5.5%sc for each buy

yeah true. Thats fine by me.

What i am not that happy about was when remember when talk of recession was at a high few months back. Even most of the EQ funds kept a big portion of holdings in cash.

I think they have to managed the composition of the portfolio according to the investor's selected portfolio type.
there is only a certain leeway for them to switch....they have to maintain the FI and the EQ ratio for each portfolio type.
*
Yeap , that is a given for Managed Portfolios. I mean the unit trust fund directly for example like the CIMB APAC Dynamic income fund .

No big deal , just sharing my thoughts on how I allocate certain % for EQ exposure and i have cash sitting on the sidelines on my side, and i pay the management fee for them to keep a portion of our cash on the side too.

Still happy with their performance either way!

Dumping money in SAMY could have double edged sword now.
The USD-MYR is not favourable to us.
The RM 250 that I dumped in yesterday converted into < USD 60 compared to last month.
With depreciating MYR and plunging US ETFs, it is like a suicide.
*
But the MYR I converted previously has made nice currency gains. Just DCA as normal and it will average out in the end
