I don't think they check, you just have to self declare. At the same time, these funds do have high minimums so you need to be able to afford them in the first place. (Yes, I am a 'sophisticated investor' and an FSM Platinum member.)

I have savings enough to cover the minimum, but not making 300k a year
I'm interested in the manulife dragon fund

Most of Malaysia operated Fund are not allowed to invest to China Stock directly.

If look at stock holding of that "Greater China Fund", they are holding HK listed (like Sunny Optical, Tencent) or USA listed (alibaba, JD.com) China Share for China Exposure.

For example, Eastspring Dinasti has 0 Shang Hai listed / Shen Zhen listed China Share.

In the other words, China Stock have very limited impact on NAV up / down.

at what % each of this being allocated in your port?

unknown to your objectives, duration of this investment, your risk appetite and the amount of money in this UT investment port against your net worth....cannot say if there is at problem with your port.....
but generally by looking at your port stereo typically....yes, looks like some funds are high in correlation...but this again also have to see the total % allocated in those correlation funds and against your investment style. no right or wrong......will have to see how you will feel emotionally when Asia Pac takes a tumble for a while.....
