how about amincome plus as compared to amanahraya syariah trust ?
*
I might be wrong but amincome plus is focussed on short to medium term bonds which has lower risk than longer bond funds. Thus, the performance is above MMF rate in general. I have also look at its fund fact sheet and amincome has well diversified bonds. Amanahraya trust fund not completely fixed income. But looking at its performance over 10 years, this fund has good preservation of value.

Anyway i invested in both. 2nd level emergency fund in amincome and extra cash in amanahraya trust account.

Something about the performance of BIMB i-Growth
*
I am just wondering how diversified is BIMB i-growth? Maybe it has concentration on a few stocks and those few stocks are doing very well.

Any good potential Reit Funds for more exposure  notworthy.gif  hmm.gif  ..

I thought that gold and reits funds have less correlation to equity stock funds. Like bond funds their purpose is for a bit of protection against equity market crashes. I think these funds have a place in your asset allocation portfolio. I am not sure the optimal % allocation of each, though.

Personal opinion...the difference in yield between bond fund and say a 2-5 year FD is not enough to justify the risk. Imo. Unless maybe usd bonds to hedge against myr..
*
hmm.gif This current low yield and uncertain future interest rate environments are giving problems for fixed income funds. I have to weigh in the liquidity (as in 2-5 year FD), currency risk (USD bonds hedge against myr), yield and risk of those bond funds. Maybe investors who are like me have to accept low yield short-term Malaysian bond funds.

Actually, this current environment have forced me to go for more equity than I normally do.

golden butterfly allocation/portfolio is a possible - can swap out a bit of gold for properties/REITs as both seems to be "real physical assets"

lots of samples/stuff on it on web +youtube.

i am sure fund manager will do something like rebalance their portfolio
else why they are paid so high salary?

I wish what you say is 100% true. I got this two bond funds from R**; R** bond fund and R** Islamic bond fund which has increasing exposure to this Maju Holdings and the MEX project. First in 2019 from Bright Focus bonds, then, 2020 and again 2021 from MEX downgrade. Is it too much to expect UT funds to diversify? My bond funds are causing me more problems than my equity funds bangwall.gif

I have since disinvest all my bond holdings from R** bond funds in Mar.

My equity funds also perform better than bond funds.
All bond funds were dropping since Feb. My pm bond funds - 4%
*
I can understand and accept if the drop is due to market condition. In the current situation, there is an expectation of interest rate increase. Thus, this affects the bond funds.

But i cannot accept a UT that have overconcentration of only a few bonds - pls see this link

How is this compare to versa/stashaway?
*
You can try RHB cash management fund 2. But the transaction to buy is +1 day and to sell is +2 days. And the interest (1.9% pa) is slightly less than versa & stashaway simple (about 2.15%). It is only money market interest after all.

anyone start to pick up China?

just added an additional 5% of my portfolio to china
just added Reits another 2% to my overall portfolio

cash out 50% of on tech United Global Tech smile.gif, still got 50% left
not sure why my friend ask me to cash out, but i listen saja la cash out end of April.

Tech - 15%
China - 22%
Asia Pacific Ex Japan - 18%
Reits - 18%
Malaysia - 12%
Cash - 15% <--- gonna slowly masuk china (not asia pacific) and reits
*
When do you expect to withdraw? For me, it is 20 years from now. I diversify my portfolio into China, US, India, etc. I try to think long term and don’t worry about the short term problems right now(covid and trade war).

As for tech funds, different sectors will do well depending on the economic phase - see google on sector rotation. For me, i just maintain my tech funds because i find predicting which sector is difficult and i do not want to play catch up. I don’t want to buy when the sector stocks already high rclxub.gif and don’t want to sell when the sector has dropped. There is 1.5% fee whenever i buy into new equity funds

Oh, so apparently this fund targeted countries of Far East (China, etc.) So not much differences with my other China fund.

Actually I'm looking for a fund with global exposure as currently all my funds are local and Asia ex Japan.

Any recommendations? Can be either equity or balanced.
*
I have Principal global titans fund with focus mainly on US, europe and japan. You can also focus individually on us or europe region. Take a look at

Manulife Investment U.S. Equity Fund
TA European Equity Fund

I don’t think any funds in FSM focus specifically on Taiwan. You can try the greater china eg principal or manulife greater china. Both have 20% invested in Taiwan.
