HI FRIENDS,

My updated portfolio.

1) AFFIN HWANG GLOBAL DISRUPTIVE INNOVATION
    FUND=28.15%
2) AFFIN HWANG NEXT GENERATION TECHNOLOGY
    FUND=11.62%
3) AMCHINA A SHARES MYR HEDGED=19.12%
4) UNITED MALAYSIA FUND=15.67%
5) INTERPAC DANA SAFI=11.93
6) RHB SHARIAH CHINA FOCUS FUND=8.11%
7) PRINCIPAL GREATER CHINA EQUITY FUND=.96%
8) BIMB I GROWTH=4.78%

China equities seems "will" not stabilize anytime soon eventhough china's economy doing better may be due to huge selloff . Anyway I have "to" make use of the funds' price dip to recover my losses on "CHINA"  funds.
After this no more new/top up china funds.

Planning to add some more funds to more diversify my portfolio.
making use of "eunittrust" sc promo.

-to be added-

1) BIMB I GROWTH(top up)
2) INTERPAC DANA SAFI(top up)
3) PMB SHARIAH GROWTH(new fund)
4) RHB GLOBAL ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENT FUND(new fund)
5) UNITED GLOBAL TECH FUND (new fund)
6) PHILLIP MASTER EQUITY GROWTH FUND(new fund)

also looking for some european and reit based funds.
any recommendations ?

I know my portfolio mostly rely on equities which can pose high risk on my investment .
Leave your thoughts.
Bye.
*
Just shared some recommendations, you may study which one suit you. Beside amschroder, others I am holding currently for long term
European equity: TA European equity, amschroder European equity alpha

Reit is for long term and don’t expect quick earning in short time...
Currently I am holding : Manulife shariah global reit , Manulife investment Asia Pacific reit
Or you may use fund Selector in Fsm to filter reit and see their past year performance and factsheet

Affin Disruptive Innovation fund seems to be still going down, lost 10.6%, is it better to keep DCA or let things get clearer first? Has CW lost her magic or it has climbed too much?
*
ARKk is for long term investment, I can’t remember much but I think in March during tech stock bloodbath CW did mention they can foresee Tesla will go to 2k or 3k in 5 years and this fund is good to hold for super long term
So if you are ARK believer it is no harm to keep dca...

the crazy gain in 2020 stock market is only just happened once a decade.
this might give some people a "fake hope" that this type of gain 30%, 50%, 100% a year is normal.

starting from 2009, what push the growth fund (eg tech) goes up is mostly due to the QE from US.
In the last continuously eight weeks the individual investors are the only net buyers in US stock market... the big players are already retreated since Marc.

so i think one should review and adjust strategy and plan for long term investment... and NOT to expect buy the dip will reward the rebound to previous high in short time just like in 2020.

Hi Guys

I'm a newbiee here.
I have a doubt here

Today, i'm think to top up my fund Eastspring Investments Small-Cup Fund and i found out:
1. Fund price at Fundsupermart: 0.7327
2. Fund price at Bloomberg: 0.7315
3. Fund price at Eastpring website: 0.7315

My question is, what is my purchase price if i do top up today at fundsupermart? 0.7327 or 0.7315?

Anyone can teach me?
Thank you
*
You won’t know the NAV price you secured on that day when you purchase. Buy on Sat,Sun,PH the transaction will proceed on the next working day. You need see on next Tuesday to know the NAV date of 24/5 which is the price you will get.

I invested 5% of my portfolio in Affin Hwang Global Disruptive Innovation Fund on 8 Jan 2021 (yeah..... when everything was still going up, up, up).

I have the ability to hold long-term

Just thinking hard whether I should average down since it is at about -10% now.

I guess I'll wait for the US Inflation report tonight (Friday morning US time): https://www.rttnews.com/3198154/u-s-stocks-....aspx?refresh=1

Depending on the inflation reading, things could go up or down.

Any thoughts/feedback?
*
I dont have this fund or ETF...
For timing i think it should be good time to average down now
if ARKK drop below 100 average down one more time. bangwall.gif

Hi all, I was just reading another thread here where someone said "unit trust is useless with all the sales charges and management fees" and would rather invest in  bonds, ETF, etc.

What are your thoughts on this?
*
no investment are useless, just suit in different requirement.
i think one should diversify to all but not only stick to one investment tool, can allocate into stock, UT, ETF, bonds, FI, cash based on your risk attitude.

My current allocation
stock 24%- I monitor US stock everyday for trading when have good opportunity. The allocation used to be up to 40% last month but I reduce to 25% and moved to cash
UT 25%- I like UT. since I monitor stock daily so know roughly how the market is doing in that period. So I timing in UT for China, HK, Europe, REIT stock that I didn’t cover in stock trading for long term investment. Only monitor once a week and normally every quarter i will plan for my next quarter
Stashaway 1%- I started last year by setting auto recurring deposit 100-500 monthly, monitor and look only once per quarter
FI 29% - SSPN & ASNB, top up only I have extra bullets but no place to park. I am controlling this not exceed 30%. Also I quit bond fund since Feb, the reason is since the bond fund also have risk (lower), why not i take higher risk and park into stock? If don’t want to take risk then park into SSPN ASNB..
Cash 20% - park in high yield saving acc & stock cash account. Frankly speaking I don’t care much about the return here, 0.x% different on return will not make any changes to my investment plan.

for UT i tried to buy during the 0% sales charge promotion. But if timing and price good I don’t mind to enter with 1.5% sales charge.
actually all investment have charges lah, be it management fee, sales charges whatever. Stock also have charges. Do business also need to pay the charge here and there
The problem is how can one maximize earning profit by choosing correct stock/fund at correct time, and the most importantly do you know what you are doing and can you afford the risk.

Just entered Fsm see my portfolio performance...Greater China UT I bought in march21 are -0.7% now
Quite surprized the RHB China focus fund bought in Mar21 is +14% now..
Looks like only Malaysia UT(not focus on Tech) and greater China (focus on HK stocks) are doing badly and the others are still performing

Amateur on ETF seeking advice/views.
https://www.fsmone.com.my/funds/research/ar...-shar?src=funds

Referring to the above, is there any strong reason to buy into an ETF on the US market vs a similar that is on KLSE? Really trying to understand.
*
Personally I don’t think any malaysia ETF worth to buy.. can’t even find a reason why I should go for Malaysia ETF... if want simple and stable ETF just go for SPY, QQQ either monthly DCA or buy at dip. China ETF might look good also but better DCA instead of lumpsum at dip

I would like to know monthly DCA I assume is invest once a month correct? Would like to know if anyone also goes for weekly or fortnightly DCA instead of monthly? Daily DCA don't make sense for UT,ETF I guess.
*
normally is monthly, because people want to make it simple and easy. in long run the performance should make no big different i think? As long as the ETF/UT you buy are healthy (going uptrend) in long term else maybe should consider stop or switch...
for me if let say weekly go top up an ETF or UT then too much hassle for me.. if want to DCA and also DIY can allocate some capital for monthly DCA, some for buy at dip, some for goreng etc.

having hardtime to understand your question
but i assume you meant you already opened account and bought fund A through FSM, now just topup, do you require to resubmit any form? the answer is no you can do it all online
*
Sorry didn’t elaborate clearly on my question.
I already have PPA number and last year I top up Principal PRS “ Islamic Asia Pacific xxx ”, and this year if I continue top up 3k on this same PRS fund, will just need to buy and pay only right? Do I need to fill in PRS form and mail hardcopy to FSM?
I have this concern because I remember last year (Or 2019) I did go to post office to send hardcopy form to FSM...
And yesterday when I tried top up Manulife PRS (global reit) before I reached payment page it did show a form for me fill in and mail hardcopy.
Thus wondering if i top up the same PRS fund that I already have do I need to submit hardcopy form again? I think the answer is no but just would like to confirm with sifu here . Thanks

you already purchased Principal PRS funds through FSM before, so no need as you already have Principal account opened

the reason why u need to submit the form for Manulife PRS is that it is a different fund house, you don't have an account with Manulife, so you need to submit the form for FSM to open a Manulife account for you.

Ok thanks for confirmation
