Hi guys,

My IT manager just informed of us of a virus outbreak on Yahoo! Mail. It infects your PC by just logging into your mail account. Does anyone has the same problem?

your it manager ph4a1l3d!

an outbreak on a reputable mail service like yahoo is very unlikely. he must be trying to scare ppl not to log on to webmails during office hours

Hi guys,

I just got verification. The virus only infects user using Yahoo! Mail Beta and Internet Explorer. Normal yahoo mail or firefox users shouldn't be affected. Sounds like an IE vulnerability.

The virus loads itself to your memory during the "loading screen" for yahoo mail beta.

UPDATE!

The virus is real, My office's symantec AV just detected it as W32.Feebs.

QUOTE
This posting is in response to a W32.Feebs False Positive detection on the Yahoo Mail beta application. This FP was first released in the 20070227.035

) IU.
An additional message will be sent approximately 30 minutes before the updated virus definitions are available for download.
