My rig still runs OK with GTX 1080 gaming 1440p but some games like Assassin's Creed Origins, drops 50 ish FPS . I wonder if upgrade to Ryzen 5 3600 will improve in performance.Ryzen going strong I may also jump camp once my sandy bridge says enough is enough QUOTE(alfiejr @ Jun 4 2020, 12:07 PM) Eyeing for 3600 but dunno whether 3600XT is coming out or just a rumour. |

Maybe 15 fps faster at Ultra... That game is GPU heavy. |

since ps5 is coming by the end of the year , is the 6c/12t ryzen 3600 still relevant if im building a rig just for gaming ( with let say media player/google chromes tab on the background) , or its just safer to go 3700x since ps5 will have 8cores/12t , i want to stay with this rig for like 5 years atleast but also on tight budjet.

I don't think you can just compare cores/treads count directly like that. PS5 supposed to be game changer because the way it implement it's SSD as cache for VRAM. So there's possibility PC side will see some changes in newer GPU or CPU or MOBO to keep up with PS5 performance. Your rig will be obsolete when such changes happen. |
