Firstly, before I begin, I would like to clarify that I am not bragging or showing off and all the problems I am facing, is real. I hope someone can help me because I am going nuts... rclxub.gif

So anyway, I just got myself a set of OCZ PC4800 Dual Channel Platinum Limited Edition Memory:

user posted image

So I tot it was cool to have a DDR600 RAM because then I can push my Athon64 to 300Mhz FSB. Problem is, this ram will only boot at 2-2-2-5. Which of course only allows me to do around 210~220Mhz. To get to 300Mhz obviously I have to loosen the timing but the moment I set anything other than 2-2-2-5, I can't boot at all. Anyone knows whats the reason? Or perhaps knows the solution?

My Rig:
AMD Athlon64 3000+ (s939)
ASUS A8N-SLI Motherboard (BIOS modded to A8N-SLI Premium)
Cooler Master eXtreme Power 430W

Please help me... esp those who have used DDR600 RAMs before...

i had a pair of TCCDs, but i have never tried with those kind of timings before.
the tightest ive ever gone is around 2.3-3-4. and even that needed an increment in voltage.
well, this is scouflys' area, and he should know how to guide u thru this, but in anycase, do u think its the bios of the board? or do u think there is too little vdimm?

I set it to 2.8v which should work for TCCD...

The problem is, I never heard of such thing that if I loosen the ram timing, it refuse to boot sweat.gif

Hopefully soulfly tumbles upon this thread then. I need all the OC sifu's help! notworthy.gif

RP / MAL? some tccd work with 8/5.5. finding the best timing is tricky, but had to go through all the hassle to get the best.

Currently running RP - 7ns
MAL - 5.5ns

Should be okay right? Sadly my BIOS doesnt have any option to edit those two.

Yes exactly. So is there a way to solve this or is it time to send this ram for RMA?

hmm.gif, i used to have this - Asus A8N-SLI Premium + Team eXtreme PC4800, it won't boot i don't know why, even worse, even after reseting CMOS, it won't boot unless, i use Kingston KVR or any other non-overclocked Value/RAM too boot it up and reseting the BIOS, at first, i thought it was BIOS, so updating to the latest, still same, actually it's been brought up @Asus support, but it appears no reply - i guess they don't have any idea what's wrong...

where/when did u get that pair of ram? you got em brand new or used from some other ppl?

as far as i could recall, TCCD hates being burn-in. i remember somebody burn-in his TCCD at CL2 .... and not long after that his RAM refuse to run CL2.5/CL3.... only CL2.

have you tried other slot combination?

to make sure that either mobo or ram caused the problem, I suggest you try the ram on another pc and see how is it going on.

hmm.gif could it be the same like mine too? because, i can't do DDR660@3-4-4-8@2.8vDIMM as i used to be, suddenly it'll BSOD or C2D (crash to desktop laugh.gif), so i have to limit to DDR266@2-3-2-6@2.8vDIMM in order to maximize CPU clock @2.8GHz, in MemTest, hitting DDR670 runs smooth, but still BSOD in windows

@J-Slade sorry, but i think your problem could be same like mine here...smile.gif

I'm having some sorta the same problem as sniper here.
Memtest could pass for more than 12 hours without any errors, but once booting into windows, BSOD.

Damn, now i was forced to actually lower the FSB, doing a slower OC to get it stable.

I'm using an Ultra-D. Can anyone help?

right soulfly? unsure.gif...
well unlike @meno's problem which he has to lower clock but mine, it's prolly on my mobo's fault, it won't do at 1:1 anymore, because, when swapped with my bro's Ultra-D, everything just fine...so, it's not RAM fault or CPU, it's mobo - the weird thing is, until no BSOD or instability issue @2.8GHz but DDR266 divider

What has the PSU got to do with booting at CAS 2.5 or 3?
