Hi fellow Lowyat forummers,

Are any of you experiencing any latency issues with GW2 as of 4th February 2016?
I could login fine for like a minute before the latency jumps straight to 4000ms and subsequently disconnecting.
I was wondering if it was our Malaysian internet or ANet that is screwy.

Thanks in advance biggrin.gif

Edit: Lul, looks like I am still stuck in 2016. 4th February 2017.

yes literally unplayable currently unfortunately. it was just fine before the Lunar patch i think.

must be our TmNET routing to Gw2 Servers problem, not sure if Anet or our ISP can fix this. try use VPN temporarily, i can get connection without dc with that.

you can try download Pingplotter and test 64.25.38.238 (NCsoft server), screenshot the terrible packet loss and send the result to Anet support or TM.

What VPN are you using at the moment? I am currently using WTFast, the trial version and am getting like 230-250ms.

Wondering if there are better VPNs out there, any recommendations?

What kind of ping/latency are you getting with Winscribe, if you don't mind me asking.

sorry forgot that. about 300+ms, without VPN was also around 300+ and sometimes higher, with Streamyx. hope the issue will be fixed cos i don't wanna use extra VPN just for Gw2, since other multiplayer games are fine.

hope Anet fix the NCSoft server routing, they usually say is ISP issue on the forums. what ISP are you using btw?

Unifi. I am getting like 250-270ms but sometimes it can spike to 300-330ms.

most of the time it is TM users (Unifi/Streamyx) that are having problem, while Maxis/TIME users having no issue with lag/dc whatsoever....

looks like it is a TM routing problem....

i see, it get better lately but this time was really bad. Anet will say is not their problem since hop where the packet loss occur is the Tier 3 server that our ISP uses to route to their server, and Anet has no control over it. so their advice is to complain to our ISP/switch ISP.

but being in an area where we don't even have 8mbps/Unfi/TIME, don't have much option.

any idea how to complain about this to TmNet for Streamyx users? i doubt Anet can do anything about it, since TIME not affected, only TM Streamyx routing got issue.

It's still wonky for me. I can stay longer in the game but after a while or on a few occasions a very short while, connection is lost again.
