Google for US's Llumar film TSER ratings. All listed are not as high as the ones advertised in Malaysia. Either MY is using a different type of films (unlikely) or they "uprated" the TSER for sales purpose.

Yes I have to agree... just to share my experience on this topic... excuse the long post, but i feel we malaysians should empower ourselves, find out more, dealers/agents shouldn't just push their product without care about service..

As a start, I don't care for one tint brand over another.. i don't represent any brand... to me it seems they all do the job more or less.

For Huper, i went to SS2 branch - the SA was very helpful.. not lansi at all. Explain all my questions in detail.. Give me proper quotation without being secretive.. .not pushing me towards any promotion. no problem with me mixing and matching or choosing their promotion.. also no problem giving me sample to test my autogate.

For Llumar, i went to SS2 outlet also (actually next to Huper shop)... found the salesgirls very lansi and not knowledgeable at all... they just wanted to push their promotion combo just using their small product booklet.. when i told them i don't understand because very confusing and the booklet very hard to compare (have to flip pages), and their range is not consistent with the Llumar website - they just give me some BS excuse saying "don't worry --- customer just pick security range, and then it will come with corresponding solar range - the specs will be more or less the same".... when i ask can see the spec for the solar range -- answer "don't have".. They just don't want to explain how to mix and match different solar and security film range.. Finally i got so fedup with them i wanted to leave, the head saleslady come to my assistance.. but still don't really want to explain the Llumar range.. just want to push the promotion combo.. want to take brochure also don't have.. want to take sample also very reluctant - but finally at least give me sample to test my autogate.

Not satisfied with this Llumar outlet, i went to their HQ in Chan Sow Lin to inquire more because according to website, the Llumar spec is rather good.. this time the SA lagi lansi.. first SA girl, again pushing their combo.. ask for brochure also don't have.. the sample booklet which they use to show customers also having so small film cannot see/feel properly.. then suddenly this SA girl without saying a word just dissapear.. Another SA girl show up try to take over.. so i have to explain everything again.. at this point, i'm getting fedup already.. then the head sales/office mgr come to assist... one indian lady.. again i have to explain everything but wah this lady damn so lansi.. just say, this is their product combo.. .basically take it or leave it.. say don't need to explain further.. nothing to explain.. with that, i had enough and left..

3M also not having good initial feeling.. go to car dealer showroom, they provide 3M tint as part of package, but when ask further, the 3M SA not around... prod info brochure also not available.. at the moment, no further comment until i find time to go to proper 3M dealer and ask more.

Without a doubt, i would never use Llumar (at least in malaysia) even if their product is good... lousy and lansi salesppl.. product range not easy to compare, very confusing, inconsistent info (at least i trust their website more... but unfortunately website got no such thing as diamond6/Palladium9/crystal6/Gold/t4-50/etc... i don't have time to compare specs and see which name in malaysia matches which product line in the website - and i shouldn't have to do that..

at least huper, the SA give me a confidence feeling.. and at least their prod info is consistent.. not so secretive.. easy to understand.. Llumar such a dissapointment. where got multinational selling product don't even have brochure to give customer ? WAH - like that, how to expect to buy ? they expect customer to just look at small booklet, don't ask questions, choose the promotion, and pay...

anyways, choose wisely... cause there are lots of lousy dealers out there.. .promise this and that.. in the end, never give you feeling that you got what you paid for... sometimes also don't know whether they switch film or not to something cheaper...

tints are not cheap... so i'd rather go with my gut feel.. understand product properly first, do i sense dealer got something to hide, are my questions being answered properly, is the SA knowledgeable, is he/she being straightforward, do i feel i will get good aftersale service, or will i just get pushed around when there is bubbling, or kena saman by JPJ, etc...

drive safe, and stay safe - Cheers,
