hi all,
wanna ask is the sport light test on tint accurate or not? i just tinted with sun-gard and during sport light test, i dont feel any heat at all but when driving back my car, found that heat is still feel-able.

is this normal? maybe the spotlight doesn;t provide as much as the sunlight? thx

Ask the guys to bring a piece underneath the sun and gauge from there with ur hand or ur entire arm. The spotlight is not accurate enough. The weather increased at least 1-2C in the noon these days. You need at least a 50% TSER to shield the heat. 64% would be the best but the cost is high. You pay for what you get.

Tint is long term usage. U use it everyday, especially to people who do sales. Invest in a better tint.

I'm on Huper Optik C40 side and front, C30 on back. Consider ok, but I would prefer higher TSER to 64%. My TSER is already on 55% +-. But it still beats RM800 no brand tint anytime. Non-JPJ compliance but no issue with RB.

I just changed my car windscreen to Vkool Elite, it is so called the most premium one but i found some cons bout it:
- Too bright ( i think the light penetration % is too high)
- GPS unable to get signal/ lock satelite

On the other hand, my car aircond do cool down faster.

Hi,all i just tinted my car with Llumar-Diamond 6 at Puchong.

i found that it is better that 3M,Llumar have a total solar energy rejected and GPS friendly.

I very satisfied with Llumar-Diamand 6, which is the best ever i had tinted

P/S: the sale girl told me Llumar had take over the Vkool factory (Elite) and some more thier film are make at china.

i don't know is true or not.

Both the tint mentioned is due to the metal that is used in the film that is reflective, hence it's harder for GPS and Smartag to go through. It will get worse over time as the film is oxidized and loses it's efficiency. All tint loses efficiency over time. As long as you feel that it is not performing up to the specifications anymore, you can choose to ask for a replacement. Tint is known to oxidize after 5 years.

I initially wanted to go with Llumar but the specificiation sheet from Tint Auto is contradicting with Llumar USA's specification. Further adding into the confusion was the naming convention that Tint Auto gave on the film which is not stated in the Llumar's official website. From the Diamond 6 spec that you have mentioned I found the following specs given by Tint Auto website:

VLT 63%
TSER 59%
IR Rejected 97%
UV Rejected 99%
Break Strength 165 lb/inch
Tensile Strength 33,100 lb/inch2
Puncture Strength 125 lb
Thickness 6 mil (150 micron)
Warranty 10 Years
Color Green

As it is a 6 mil, it is considered a security film and hence it's easier to match on the spec sheet in Llumar's official site. Attached is the Llumar spec data for Global (non US and Canada) which I believe using the film name AIR65GNSRPS6 (6 mil green). They do not mentioned the IR rejection rate as well. This is the closest match which I believe is the tint film that is marketed as Diamond 6 here.

Spec sheet is available here. http://www.llumar.com/pdf/en/LLumarAutoSpecsGlobal.pdf

VLT 63%
TSER 43%
Visible Light Refelcted 8%
UV Rejected 99%

I view this as a serious misinformation provided by the distributor and there is no correction for a long time. We are talking about a 15% difference in TSER! That is a huge difference on the Total Solar Efficiency rate. If they are honourable on the 10 year warranty, I believe you can ask for a tint change after the tint is oxidized.

Ceramic 40 on front windscreen or rear?
If front, does HO give the warranty against JPJ summons?

No warranty bro. Dare to put until C40 should be ready to eat saman already. But so far C40 can lepas no problem cos i'm using it also all rounder. No issues at all probably i don't go clubbing anymore so not much roadblocks i encounter.

Actually C40 not dark at all. Can see through in the noon and night as well from the outside. My tint shop pao the C40 if kena saman, but change any side to a darker one, they don't cover anymore.

Don't recommend Llumar. I believe they overspec their tinting figures. No chance try 3M, 2 cars also tint with C40. TSER wise, V-kool still considering the best, but price/TSER, i would still go for HO.

GF used to run around with cap ayam tint and got her skin tanned. Invest in HO for her car, can say $ well spent smile.gif
