Hi all,
Would appreciate that anyone can recommend a reliable tint shop in jb. I am interested in huper optik. I am a fan of v Kool 40 previously. Thanks a million to all.

C40 isn't really very dark.
*
Thanks. So c30 will be slightly darker then.

QUOTE(lonely143 @ Oct 26 2012, 11:31 AM)

Agree. Check few thing before you decide to put c40

1. If the supplier willing to cover the summon then you have no worries.
2. If your car interior is dark, then it will look darker too.
*
Thanks bro. I don't think supplier will cover summon for c40 all round. My previous ride was with V Kool 40'all round and never Kena summons before even during road blocks. I just want tint that is dark enough to make one visible but not to the extent that one can't see anything from outside. V 40 is bloody exp nowadays.

For comparison,
Normally is should be

VK Elite vs Ceramic 70
VK 55 vs Ceramic 50
VK 40 vs Ceramic 40

http://www.smartwindow.com.my/
http://www.v-kool.com/our-products/automot...-kool-solitaire

Everything is depends on your budget, if your budget is RM2000++ go for VKOOL
If around RM1500++ go for Huper Optik

I am in the opinion VK 40 = HO C 30. HO 40 is lighter than VK 40.

Their specifications has been tested in the lab, therefore to compare both tint
we normally look at the VLT stated by both product

and we must did a final IR test using 150w heat lamp

If VK 40 vs C30 is already unfair if you look at their VLT
*
Bro, I was referring to the color of the tint. V40 is definetly darker than c 40.

Ho 40 I think less than 1.5 k can get. But this is no security film. I wonder how effective these security film is? Btw, I am not a believer of this security film thingy. Vkool 40 around 3 k. But maybe the two taikors here can give u further discount. Lol.

Hi All Sifu here ...Vkool just quoted me RM 2600.00 for my accord.

Elite for front and back .

Side will be suing safety film 4 mil .

Is this worth it ?
*
Add a few hundred or two u can get V 40 Liao. 2.6 k for Elite is a ripped off. But this is without safety film. I am a non believer of this, safety film thingy. I always think that it's a safety hazard!

Seriously...that guy is trying to sell you other brand. I was a v40 user for the past 8years...didn't feel any detioration in performance .

Hey, bro,

Serious attacking... easy bro. Calm down.
1. I talk only about Raytech, because I am Raytech Tinted Advisor. I put my status very clear. No misleading. People can read my post, my topic,  my feedback and understand more. Sharing information is the whole idea in forum talk.
2. I am not touch any other brand. Please do not saying me bashing other brands.  shakehead.gif
3. On personally view, "sharing price" is good actually. But sometimes, due to the brand seller have promotion from time to time is different. If you guys sharing the price is not the latest price, means the information is not update.
4. All product need advertise, infact, good product have more advertisement, because they got good things to share. Infact, be more aware for those brand you can't find any solid information, no review, no advertisement, and no website.

In forum, ppl will normally read, understand, think, research and make their decision. Lets make it open and sharing, bro.  thumbup.gif

Caveat Emptor! Even if prices were shared here, it's only served as a guide. Maybe u should re-phrase yr earlier post.

does adding clear security film reduce VLT ? making it harder to pass Puspakom?
*
Yr question is quite challenging to answer? Why need to pass puspakom if u r buying new car? If u are buying used car, u can always tint after the inspection mah? So which is which?

When failed mean you got to remove it before you can pass the inspection. To get it reinstall back after inspection mean extra cost for owner. Good luck I would say -)
*
Bro, I don't think anyone would install film before inspection. Unless its from former owner. My previous ride , the salesman GAO dim puspakom so that he doesn't need to tear down the v40. VLT 50 is so bright!

Yes, but in order for the tint to fail the test, the car will need to go to Puspakom for inspection first. For new car buyers, this will not apply unless the driver is stopped by the police or JPJ guys during road blocks or operasi. For tints with 50% VLT, it will not be dark when applied on the side windscreens, so it is unlikely that the police or JPJ guys will stop your car and ask you to go to Puspakom for inspection. Even if caught, some tint shops will cover JPJ for 5 years, so there is no issue as the tint dealer will cover for the owner.

Huper Optik provide JPJ warranty cover up to VLT42% for the side windscreens. In this sense, tints up to VLT42% for the side windscreens are still not considered to be too dark. Only for VLT40% and below it will be risky.

My point is even though the tint of VLT50% or even up to VLT40% will fail Puspakom test, the car may not have a chance to get into the Puspakom testing facility. Only those vehicles with very dark tints of below 40% will have higher risk of getting into Puspakom in the event the police or JPJ guys cannot see your face when looking through the windscreen.
*
If your car interior is of light color, vlt40% is nothing la. It's still like normal glass with a shade of dark. Vlt 30% also non issue. tongue.gif
