I tinted Huper Optik Sech60 for Front Window, and C40 for sides and rear on my Black Honda City 4 months ago, my car is very hot after expose to hot sun.

My friend tinted the same thing on her White Toyota Vios, her car is quite cold as compared to mine since we parked the same place for the same duration.

Not sure I'm getting ripped off or is Black car absorb heat so much?

I just went and install Cool World XD3 on last Wednesday.

The installation with removing old original tint was super fast.
It took less than an hour with 3-4 staffs to complete the whole thing.

Is it normal or too fast? I'm scare that it was too fast for a good
installation job. I'm scare that it's gonna have some kind of problem
in the future.

its definitely TOO fast
workmanship is the most important thing in tinting
meaning they didn't have to patients to make your tint look nice before handing over to u
also mean they dn't have the patients to use the heatgun to dry your tint
they just simply use those window washer thingy to slide your tint into place

Yup, heat not only enters through the windows, but also dissipated in through the shell of the car. Black absorbs the most heat while white deflects the most heat among all colours. Lets not go into the differences between the heat insulation properties of City vs Vios.. Haha.

Depends, you can tint as dark or reflective as possible because we do not
need to comply with JPJ rules  tongue.gif

Do you mean that jpj does not care how dark it is? no law or rules n regulation on it? Most of the sun roof is already very dark but does it good enough to keep the heat away?

If you want to improve, get some heat insulation like hesovi or insulflex for the roof , each door panel, rear trunk. Heat not just enter from windows , but the entire car. I felt the same thing, after my black vios exposed to sun for few minutes under the sun , it is much hotter than my bro white myvi on the surface.

Certain glass help to reduce heat but it not good as glass with a film. My advice is, tint your car and test drive for 1 month. If still feel hot, then sunroof is necessary...

After reading the current post. My opinion is

a) When choosing the good brand, make sure you install the original product, not the "house brand", do more research on this issue.

b) None of the window film brand can cool your car while parking under the extreme hot sun more than 1 hour. If your current tinting film can keep your car not hot within 1 hour parking is actually good enough.

i was quoted with rm2500 for 3M tint on hyundai elantra 1.8. and the sales girl said that most of the shops which quote rm1000++ are giving the customer other brand. It is impossible to get at this price. Is it true?

I've tinted few of my cars with Raytech and seriously I am very satisfied with the outcome. Few of my friends who had tinted with other so called branded films and are surprised with the performance when they sit in my car. I did tint with other brands before and was frustrated with problems such as smart tag and GPS not to mention color fade off. I chose Ultra 70 series, if you have the money you can go for it. Highly recommended.

Bro Lord Gitsy,

Since i park outside 8am - 5pm (5 days per week) and already install top tier film and still feel hot,
will it useful to use those reflective sunshade for front windscreen

I worry because will it degrade / destroy the tint from the inside in the long run?

Do you have any idea what film she quoted u? Crystalline or Nanos?

That price could be RRP. Should have some discount on it, Elantra is not huge after all.

3M got a few range for you to choose, Crystalline, Nanos, Ceramic, Color Stable, FXHP, Standard film, not to forget RE70.

Here is range of autofilm available from 3M.

Here is the price during autoshow, should give you an rough estimation on how much film should cost.

Hi bro, if you parking more than 3 hours, heat will trap inside the car and you will feel hot. This is normal phenomena. By the way, can you just provide me your vehicle number and which Raytech outlet you tint your car, I can check in Raytech customer data base system what product you tint, I will call you up and can settle your problem easily. Cheers, bro.

Need some advice here.

1. Is there any big difference between security film of 5mil and 7mil?
2. Does thicker security film will affect the power window's life span?

I'm starting to think that they gave me some kind of bad installation job.
It's because after the installation for almost a week. My front left passenger
window starting to have a few small bubbles already and some big bubbles
and the border of this window as well.

Tomorrow I'm going back to them and ask them to fix it.
