Firefox takes more RAM to run. Have you tried Chrome and see if it's better ?
What are your specs ?

Well, I think it is usual for firefox's performance with the demand to the resources right? Considered overstayed chrome really could consumed all the RAMs. So, I switched to firefox user as well. Useless you can stand the performance of IE, MS Edge (Seem same to me), always unresponsive, stopped loading even the page is blank. Anyway, I have 16GB of RAMs, so I am not concern of resources usage. But chrome is killing the resources overtime if I didn't close it.

500mb is nowhere resource intensive. You need more ram. Win10 cache aggresively so it consume more ram. People say the memory will be released when applications needs more ram. But so far I can say all those claims are bullshit. all I see my disk usage go 100% all the time because it constantly swapping on my 4GB laptop. Last week I add another 4GB, now the difference is day and night. Its all smooth now , no more 100% disk usage etc. Except it still feels slow (in term of responsiveness; not crippling performance as in insufficient ram) to me, because this laptop use HDD but I have accostumed to my SSD desktop. QUOTE(sHawTY @ Feb 3 2017, 04:29 PM) Stop using Firefox la. Even the creator themselves (Mozilla) is abandoning Firefox Source: https://www.lowyat.net/2017/124285/mozilla-...r-technologies/do you evan read that article lol This post has been edited by failed.hashcheck: Feb 13 2017, 10:27 AM

yeah, i agree that 500mb usage is not that high. you need to reduce plugins in firefox and also reduce background apps running in your PC.
Try doing some windows 10 optimization such as switching off cortana and onedrive (if you are not using). That would save quite a lot of memory.

I have upgraded from Win 10 32 bit to 64 bit and is now able to use more than 3GB RAM now.
Wonder if which one of the followings is good?
Current 1. 2GB + 2 GB
or
2. 2GB + 4GB
2 = more RAM but not dual channel.

Win10 won't even work smoothly with mere 4GB after update 1511. Fast ram is no use if your disk is constantly swapping.
Go for more. even better, get 4+4.

Go for more. even better, get 4+4. It seems it is better than before, as the usable RAM before was 2.9GB and now has extra 1GB to 3.9GB. HDD is less swapping than before. If 4+4, I need to invest at least RM200 leh to buy the RAM...
