i dun think 320x240 is today standard - lotsa digicams can support 640x480 30fps video capture now, some can do widescreen, and some even higher 1024x768? but only 15fps??

mpeg4 video cameras
higher end ones, sanyo xacti c6, ca6, or for hi definition sanyo hd1a
others sony m series
cheap ones i think are creative, n lotsa brands like

back to digicam divx certified models are pentax a10, s6, s7? casio s770, s600, maybe i got the model name wrong, google for divx digicams

u mention camcorder - uh i dunno which dv, hd or dvd camcorder support divx??

I will use it for long term

most video will be posted to youtube

i upload alot of videos to youtube.
you dont have to worry about video format, even if the camera has mpeg4 its still too big for upload, you should convert to rmvb format first, see this:
http://forum.lowyat.net/topic/378350
no quality degradation, reduce the filesize about 90%, then upload.

get panasonic lumix fx3, meet your all requirements, around rm850, best video quality.

30fps is the framerate for NTSC cameras in the US. Here you can't get camcorders that record in 30pfs because ours is a PAL country. Here you can get framerates of 50 interlaced, or 25 progressive frames per second.
