Since that's the case, I wonder if maxis is going to support older phone model like phones from 5 years before (with volte on hardware front obviously). I can accept that the current pandemic hinders things here and there, but the way how they tackle it is kinda slow and messed up. Other than "time will tell", what are your thoughts?

If it depends on device manufacturers to upgrade firmware then chance is thin. You know how good is Android device manufacturers in firmware support. bye.gif

this makes me really think apple has a better grip on stuff than any android has, on a fundamental basis
*
Thats why with same spec, iPhone is double the price of Android phone ... firmware lifecycle for Android is twice less in comparison ... if buy those low end china brand even worse ... the firmware update ends the moment you reach the cashier.

Nope, no luck, even i able to see the setting of "VoLTE enabled" switch, by turn to "On", still no luck, didn't has the VOLTE sign show on top of the notification panel of the phone.

I don't think by Maxis CS saying, if making call, if the 4G sign still there, then mean is having volte. If really this is the case, what the hack the phone maker display the volte sign for...
*
IPhone no Volte sign, Android all have Volte sign.

My mum has just gotten a new S20 FE 5G. It is in the Maxis list of supported device, but also no VoLTE.

Phone updated to latest November security patch.

Call them to complain ...

Plan is qualified
Phone is qualified
Firmware is qualified

Whats the excuse?

Maxis should feel ashamed as celcom has started to roll out to huawei users. Meanwhile, i am a huawei user of maxis. Nothing. Nothing. Nothing
*
I thought Celcom already launched VoLTE since March 2020... only now get VoLTE activation for Huawei user? Then good luck to Huawei users in Maxis ...
https://www.soyacincau.com/2020/03/06/celco...ailable-iphone/
It takes 8 months for Huawei to push the firmware!!!

So if you are in Maxis then perhaps need to wait till May next year hahahahaha ...

Damn I think they would be enable with one ui 3.0 just like S20 series
*
But online states Note10 series UI3.0 is scheduled for January.
Other models don't need to wait for UI3.0 to enable the VoLTE earlier like S9, S10, etc.
Samsung really mess up there ... all 2018,2019 and 2020 models come with Maxis VoLTE except Note 10 and Note 10+.
If prioritize for latest models I can accept ... but this ... sienz

Wish maxis volte provisioning would be more generic like my phone riding on India Vodafone modem preset to use digi volte and vowifi. Time will tell.

What kind of phone is that? Never heard before .. if popular brand having difficulty getting VoLTE support, don't think those rare breed will get it.

Maxis cust svc is a operated like a circus, by a bunch of clowns
They claim is an issue with the devices

Where as like your case u did nothing and it was enabled
It is more on the backend, where provisioning is to be done

CLOWNS

Did you satisfy all the requirements? Phone, firmware, package plan?

Its Redmi phone under Xiaomi. There's a list of vowifi supported device under digi. Xiaomi's phones have never been listed. My phone can use volte with digi out of the box, but to get vowifi running I have to root and do some tweaking by using India / UK Vodafone modem config.
*
Digi and Umobile they stop listing supported smartphones i think cause too many, all new one can support Digi and Um volte so no point to list anymore... only those new kids on the block in volte like celcom and Maxis will list it ... for a period of time.

I've tested my devices - 3 of them with other telcos (which has the svc available), and it works
No issues with package - confirmed by Maxis CS themselves
Firmware - no problem, per with other operators tests - infact Maxis CS also confirms the devices works

What I can't stand is that Maxis has this "I'm No 1" mentality and you know nothing
I think they should change the staff on-boarding/orientation process - instead of them going to the branch or to the CS ctr to see how they operate, they should start planting the idea and value  of "humility & being humble" to the new recruits
Enough of the "Manager scream at staff", "Manager try to exert authority" attitude, they need to realize the world evolves a lot faster now, before they become the next "Kodak"

I don't mind if the CS says...Im not sure, I will investigate/chk and advise you with a follow-up call

Or they can just say, I'm sorry sir, you are not the batch etc etc....ETA by when etc etc
Rather they just spin you around with various excuse, which doesn't hold (at time defies common logic)
*
I think your device firmware is not updated to support Maxis specific VoLTE.

The argument of "my phone can work in other telco" has been debated numerous time here and conclusion is the phone will support after firmware update by device manufacturer. So yes, device manufacturer plays a part to enable Volte on Maxis network.

Just wait for the firmware update from your device manufacturer to enable Volte on Maxis. Just hope your phone is new enough and still with firmware update support.

Im using Note10+, my phone firmware is not yet been updated to support Maxis Volte as well. And yes, it can work in Digi and Umobile. When i put in iPhone, it can do VoLTE. My conclusion, my sim is ready but my phone is not.

If you in this thread long enough will see the pattern that firmware update on phone is crucial esp Samsung users to enable VoLTE.

Initially i also thought to go Maxis with the "my phone can work in other telco" argument luckily i read this thread thoroughly on finding shared by others and not acting smart at their customer service on something I do not know much about.

i think very small chance for huawei user to enjoy VoLTE on maxis...
esp those new model without GMS

perhaps porting out to other telco is better if VoLTE is a must
*
I thought supposed to be the other way around, right? Those with GMS are old devices, new one HMS should support ... device manuf usually have firmware support for new not old models ...
