QUOTE(fujkenasai @ Mar 17 2017, 07:52 PM) does adobe photoshop support nvidia gtx 1080? Ive read adobe forums from last year they say only support up to the 900 series... any updates on that? How to know if it's supporting it? I am using the latest Photoshop CC and I can see it'd detected my GTX1070 graphic card. Not really 1080 so, not sure if it's any different or not.

QUOTE(fujkenasai @ Mar 18 2017, 09:26 AM) Does ur ps cc lag when u remove or disable the gc? Does it detect other gc? Yes, it's definitely affecting the performance. Once I disabled the GC, you can easily see the lag. On to monitors, am wondering should I change to acer predator xb271hu. Am using LG29UM57 now. I like the ultrawide but in the other hand I really wanna try 144hz and Gsync. Just not sure if getting xb271hu now will be a wise decision or not. QUOTE(edmund_yung @ Mar 21 2017, 01:23 AM) I don't have the XB271HU but I did used and enjoyed the XB270HU. There IS a difference between 100hz and 144hz, but like what others has mentioned, you really need to be playing specific games on powerful rigs to take advantage of that, such as competitive FPS and racing games. After using the X34A, I don't think I'll ever go back to 16:9 anymore for that extra 44hz. I say go for the 21:9 1440p monitor. Unless you play a lot of SC2 and Overwatch. Thanks for the feedback! Not sure my 1070 can power that absolute monster of a monitor. Guess I'll stick to my 29" 60Hz UW a little longer now.

QUOTE(skylinelover @ Mar 21 2017, 06:31 AM) Same with 27" 60hz Already planning project 4k @ 144hz in 2018 powered by volta waaaaa... more more more kach$$$$$inngggg... T_T QUOTE(Someonesim @ Mar 21 2017, 06:33 AM) Unless you demand ALL ULTRA setting for all new games, GTX1070 still ok. Even all ultra and you're getting 40-50fps, with G-sync it's still bearable ( at least for me ) Let's wait 38" 3840x1600 become mainstream true true... well, I can live with "high" settings. LOL... the main thing I am looking for now is G-Sync and at least 100Hz. Really wanna try out those... and your current monitor have all of em boxes checked. Only my wallet is not cooperating.

Guys, any idea when will the next gen cards be available? I know nothing is concrete but there's usually a time frame Nvidia rolls out their next gen right? Any input for this?

QUOTE(sai86 @ Jun 20 2017, 07:37 PM) Just gonna to slap a WB and do a moderate oc to maintain lower temp. A stock clock 1080ti is overkill for 1440p 72hz anyway. Nah... it's never overkill with 1440p. Take a look at those new AAA games now. Ultra settings demands "at least" 1080ti.

Yes, I think 60hz monitor is not that taxing and that resolution is still lower than 1440p.

QUOTE(Lurker @ Jul 19 2017, 01:08 PM) Looks like negative pressure. 3 exhaust no blockage, 2 intake block by radiator Negative pressure will lead to higher amount of dust in the case. Positive air pressure will push air out instead of air being sucked in from wherever possible. Correct me if I'm wrong though.

QUOTE(audiocool @ Jul 19 2017, 05:14 PM) Thought should be the other way around. Positive airflow is more intake than exhaust. Negative airflow is more exhaust then air intake. You are correct. As what I mentioned, in PC casing, having negative air pressure (exhaust fans > intake fan) will result in air coming in from all sort of places. That means areas without dust filter (cd-rom, back pci-e slot brackets, etc.) To eliminate this issue, positive pressure (intake fans > exhaust fan) will make air to be pushed out of those areas instead of the other way round.

QUOTE(Savor_Savvy @ Oct 17 2017, 02:22 PM) 1080p. Current monitor: 24 inch. The price of 1070 and 1080 is too near, might as well get the 1080. I think you just answered your own question. If you have the moolah, then by all means go for the 1080. However, I would wait just a little longer since 1070ti is around the corner. Just wait and see how that goes, then only splash the cash. QUOTE(soul_fly9900 @ Oct 17 2017, 03:29 PM) I think for 1080p even 1060 is good enough, need others to clarify this. But if 1080 pricing isnt a big top up from 1070 from your survey, its definitely a good buy that should last you maybe 5 yrs or more and open to upgrade to 1440p in the future as well I don't think any GPU can last you 5 years now. Where are those 780ti now?

You see my point is actually depending on the buyers. If you are the type that can splash around $4k on the highest tier GPU, I really doubt you are the type that can tolerate medium settings in game. 10/10 will replace the card after 2 or 3 years. Now now... this also depends on how you game.

QUOTE(jimmylim85 @ Nov 19 2017, 09:13 AM) Yes indeed but at the moment those second hand with warranty GTX 1080 is asking RM 2700 when i can get a brand new for RM 26xx Perhaps the brand of the particular unit also demands a higher price. I can see a second hand Asus 1080 will be similarly priced with the cheapest available brand new 1080. Also, longer warranty period hold a higher price as well. A second hand card with 4 years remaining warranty basically have higher value than a brand new card with 2 years warranty.

QUOTE(jimmylim85 @ Nov 20 2017, 07:10 AM) Usually all graphic card manufacturer provides 3 years warranty while Zotac provides 5 years warranty. But whats the point of having 5 years warranty when that particular model generation probably dies off by 2 to 3 years with a new version? Depends on your definition of "dies off" actually. Even though the card will be superseded each generation, not everyone will change GPU every generation. Like I said, after 3 years, buying a second hand card with 1 or 2 years left of warranty still beats a card with none. Would you rather buy a card with 1 year official warranty from manufacturer or 1 week so-called "warranty" from private seller?
