With GTX1080 at $499 and GTX1070 unadjusted at $449, no need PhD to tell you which one people will buy. Assume GTX1070 price is dropped to $359, GTX1060's current price of $299 may have to drop a bit lor, maybe to $249

Yes true...    I'm hoping the 'time factor' will also come into play, as in the value of these GPUs reduce over time but that could take awhile.

Finally jump ship to green camp since last green card of 8500GT. Only my third green card here.

My GC journey so far, Nvidia 6600GT -> 8500GT -> ATI 4850 -> ATI 6850 -> R9 290 -> GTX1080. ATI so far high CP ratio, but sometimes just itchy want to try something expensive.

wait until 1070ti is out and see how's the pricing and 2nd hand pricing as well.

1070Ti OC = 1080 Ref +-
1080 OC = 1080 OC 

or straight go for used 1070. better.
