Hi guys!

I just came back to Penang and in need to figure out the best internet plan. So, I'm a casual internet user mostly spent on youtube, light PS4 gamer and getting into freelance working which means I stream tutorial videos heavily, etc. The house i'm living in was have Streamyx before, but got cancelled since my all of my siblings moved out already.

I don't want to re-install Steamyx because of the speed issues before (unresolved old internal wiring leading to frequent disconnection). No Unifi coverage as well in the area. So, I'm looking into broadband plan.

I've been using U-Mobile U28 for my phone and I noticed my house got 4G coverage. P98 seems good for me but it seems I have to add-on the Share20 for my laptop and my PS4 to enjoy the video ONZ feature. is it?

MB128 with Mifi seems to be good enough for me. Just need a few clarification,

i. for the video-onz, is it only limited to 480p?
ii. Can i get the advertised speed of 21mbps by using the mifi? i'll be happy if can get abt 15mbps biggrin.gif
iii. Is the speed good enough to play online game with low lag? (elder scrolls online)
iv. Are there any other limitation that I should consider?

Share20 is a subscription that offers an additional sim card that could utilize from the data pool. If you just plan to plug it into mifi and not into the phone, you don't even have to spend on share 20.

i. It's not limited at 480p but the speed is capped and you would need to frequently re-buffer the video if you choose any higher resolution.

ii. That Mifi is 3G only and since 3G congestion is quite terrible on U Mobile, you better consider to buy a 4G mifi in the market.

iii. Latency affects much significantly than speed. If the server is located very far away, lag is unavoidable.

iv. I think that's it.

Thanks for the reply,

for p98 plan, if I plug it into the mifi, can other devices stream videos using the video-onz feature? Because based on this thread https://forum.lowyat.net/index.php?showtopic=4079063&hl=p98 its not.

Can you suggest a good 4g mifi?

Thanks.

Read the last question in the FAQ.

You can't go wrong for buying any Huawei 4G mifi.

Ahh, i see.

One last question, since I already have U28 plan for my mobile and planning to use the P98 in Mifi as my home internet, is there a way to maybe "combine" the plan together? or am i have to make do with the two plan?

Thanks again.

Just get P98 for your phone and cancel that U28 and get share20 for that mifi since the data is shared. You even enjoy unlimited calls on your phone.
